...Engaged?
My Dr told me today that bubby is engaged, and that it usually doesn't happen until around 37 weeks with a first baby.
Does this mean it might all happen early??
Also, he wrote on my yellow card 4/5. Does this mean 4/5 of bubby's head is engaged, or that 4/5 of the head still needs to be engaged??
I'M NERVOUS!!!!!!!!!!!

It could be an indication that your bub may come a little early- both mine engaged very early and didn't move but i went over with first and with second was a c section 8 days early, however i think they were wrong and he was late. Good luck.

Hi, i just checked out what the 4/5 means.
If 5 finger widths of your baby's head is felt, it is written as 5/5 palpable or 'unengaged'.
If 4 finger widths of your baby's head is felt, it is written as '4/5' palpable or 1/5 engaged.
If 3 finger widths of your baby's head is felt, it is written as '2/5' palpable or 2/5 engaged.
If 2 finger widths of your baby's head is felt, it is written as '2/5' palpable or 3/5 engaged.
If 1 finger width of your baby's head is felt, it is written as '1/5' palpable or 4/5 engaged.
If your baby's head cannot be felt it is written as 'fully engaged' or 'not palpable'.
So looks like 4/5 of the head still needs to be engaged.

I am 35 weeks and my baby is engaged also. The dr did not tell me (he doesn't really tell me anything). The midwife told me when I went into the hospital the other day with a strong cramp. She did not give a measurement, just that he is "well engaged".
I read in what to expect when you are expecting that in most instances first time mother's babies engage about 4 - 2 weeks before the baby comes, so it could be early. Although a friend of mine's baby engaged 6 weeks before due date and went 1 week overdue.
I am not sure how ling my baby has bee engaged for. I think a week as I felt a strong movement last weekend and since then a lot more presure, and my bump looks lower.
