Chromosone Testing

hello there i am trying to get some info for my friends they have recently been told that the husband carries a chromosone that gives them a one in two chance that there children will be downsydrome or worse i am wanting to know if anyone else out there has had this problem and also if anyone has concieved through ivf which is what they have to do and also did they have chromosome testing i would like to know the outcome of other peoples struggle with this and also the costs that were involved any help would be geatly appreciated
