Just thought I'd give an update, I've been a regular with posts about my DS waking @7 times a night since 6 months old... he is 14mths old now. We had always thought I should try and sleep away from him in another room, but I wasn't keen, we tried once and he was inconsolable by DH. So I don't know why we hadn't thought of it before, but just a couple of weeks ago I moved onto a mattress on the floor in our room and DH slept with DS. I though the would still sense I was in the room, but OMG it worked!!! He only woke twice/three times with DH, and he was able to settle him.
This has been a bit up and down over the few weeks and sometimes he has needed rocking or me back in the bed. But now I'm back in the bed and he wakes about 3 times has a quick drink and off to sleep again. Still haven't been able to wean him totally, but at least he isn't attached to me all night!!
I've been awake every 2 hours since he was born, sometime hourly.... And now I've had 4 hours sleep in a row for days on end, and sometimes a bit more !!! :smiliedance::cloud9: :sunshine: So there is a light at the end of the tunnel after all, just took an awfully long time to start shining for us!!!!!! I actually wake up now and give him a little cuddle while he sleeps, and enjoy his peaceful breathing:baby: its the first time I've totally enjoyed co-sleeping.
Not having any expectations, I'm just enjoying while it lasts, and :fingerscrossed: it does.
