Itchy 'down there'

Not a nice topic, and not sure if it is pregnancy related or not, but i have been really itchy down there :o Any ideas on what it could be from, or how to stop it?

It is most likely thrush which happens quite often during pregnancy. Go see a doc or get yourself a thrush pessary from the chemist. Prolly best to go to the doc first tho. I could be completely wrong!!

Thanks polony - just after I posted that I saw another thread on thrush and realised that it causes itchyness - I have never had thrush before (lucky me! first time for everything i guess!). I will go to doc first to check - I can't stand it anymore!!

It definitely sounds like thrush. I had never had it b4 until i was pregnant either. Its horrible & enough to drive ya nuts!!!! You can get canestan cream from any chemist for it. Good luck!

Sometimes it can just be irritation not thrush. If it is thrush you will discharge too. I have found Savlon great for irritation, it does nothing for thrush. So if you want try Savlon first and if it doesn't work it must be thrush and go for the Canestan:)

It still could be thrush, I had the same thing when I was preggers with DS1 and had no discharge. It drove me nuts and I went to see my doc and she tells me I had thrush(I'd never had it before then).

I was like 'really??', the thought never occured to me that it was thrush!

Anyway, I hope you get it all sorted out, it must be so uncomfortable :(

Yeah, I have discharge too - (sorry if its tmi :o thick & white) I thought that this was just another joy of pregnancy - but am glad that now i have an idea of what it is! I feel for women who get thrush all the time! Hopefully it is not a reccuring thing :fingerscrossed:
