I'm getting a BT done on April 3rd as I will be on CD21, which my doctor said is the best day to do it.
I was just reading the letter thing she gave me to give the doc when I get the BT done, and I know she told me what it meant, but I forgot :o
It says...
Tests Requested
FBE E/LFTs
FSH LH PROL.OESTRADIOL PROGESTERONE TESTOSTERONE (FAI)
SHBG TSH
I tried to Google search it, but I guess they are all in a doctors lingo.
I just thought that some ladies might know what they are.
I forgot what I asked for too lol

FBE E/LFTs these are blood cell counts so testing you for iron deficiency, and your white cell counts i have these every month along with crp which is for inflammation for the crohns
FSH LH PROL.OESTRADIOL PROGESTERONE TESTOSTERONE (FAI)
SHBG TSH
these are for your hormone levels

TSH - Test for thyroid stimulating hormone levels - probs with the thyroid can cause problems with sex hormones.
FBE - Full Blood exam - tests the levels of the different cells in your blood eg red blood cells / white blood cells
progesterone - This should be peaking at day 21 - tests to see if you are ovulating
FSH - stands for follicle stimulating hormone -os helps to see if you have PCOS getting menopause ect
SHBG -Sex Hormone Binding Globulin - binds to testosterone - helps to determine certain diseases (eg thyroid probs)
When you get the results from the dr ask for a copy - helps to compare with future results and sometimes Dr's don't give the full story. (handy hint from someone who has had numerous blood tests)

Thanks ringneck
I wasn't listening properly when she was telling me all those things. I was still a bit :o from the suprise pap lol
I can be very childish at times lol, especially with stuff like that!
And thank you too Allegra
WLAM, I'm going to have my BT now for the exact same. Have to say I'm cr@pping myself as I hate having blood tests, my Mum's coming with me to help pick me up off the floor when I faint.
Wish me luck!

GOODLUCK!!!
I hate needles too.
Last time I went, they gave me a suprise cervical cancer needle.
I was like "nah nah I don't want a needle, I just want to ask a few things"
He had to call the reception lady in to hold me while he put the needle in :o
I'M BACK!!!!
Went fine, I've found that as long as someone keeps talking to me, especially if it's about nothing in particular then I'm fine.
I didn't even faint!
I get the results on Wednesday.
