Can you replace the elastic?

I have a few nappies in which the elastic in the legs is shot. I like the nappies and would like to keep them, if I can replace the elastic. Has anyone done this before? Does anyone know how I could do this? The nappies are AIOs and pocket nappies.

I don't know about the AIO's but it should be fairly easy to replace the elastic in the pockets.

Turn them inside out and have a good look at the construction. If the elastic is simply stitched in at each end of the casing. Then snip it free and thread new elastic through. Sew down one end and stretch before sewing down the other end.

If the elastic is zigzagged in, you will have to unpick the old elastic before sewing new elastic in.

If you post a photo of the construction I can give you some better advise on how to deal with them!

thank you very much. i will give it a try and see how I go. the AIO is actually an AI2, so I could probably do the same as with the pockets.
