on pill for 12 years

i've been on the pill for 12 years! wondering approx how long it will take to get a normal cycle? anyone had a similar experience or advice?

I'm not going to be much help, but I just wanted to let you know that everybody is different. Some ladies get their cycles back sooner than others.

I guess you will just have to wait and see.

Sorry but it one of those answers you don't want. It depends on the person. Depends on what the cycles were like before hand. I was on the pill for 14 years but I think my issues are stress related and has nothing to do with the pill.

Everyone is different so you'll just have to wait and see.

I was on the pill for 6 years then when I came off we had a 'surprise' (I told him withdrawl wasn't a good method if he wasn't ready to be a daddy yet) within 3 months.

Hopefully you're a quick back to full fertility person! :fingerscrossed:

my mum was on the pill for 7 years and fell within the week the dr told her to never miss a pill or she'll be utd again but she is super fertile. i was on the pill for 5 years and my body still isnt right but it wasnt before i went on the pill either.

I was on the Pill for 8 years & went off it after my period at end of Aug 07. It took my body a couple of months to go back to about a 29/30 day cycle. However last cycle was 33 day cycle.
It really all depends on your body, how healthy & stress free you are.
My sister only took 1 month before she fell preg with her 1st & 2nd child!! Obviously didn't get those genes!!! (darn it!)

I was on the pill for 6 years when we started trying for DS1 ans my cycles went straight back to 28 days and then I was utd in 3 months. DS2 it took 6 months but cycles were straight back to 28 days.

I was on the pill for 15 years and fell pg in the second month. Like all the other ladies said, it all depends on the person but it certainly can happen straight away.

My friend was on the pill for close to 10 years & she fell preg within weeks of coming off it.

My sister had been on the pill for 10 years, she came off it and after 4 months she still hadn't had an AF and a blood test had showed she hadn't yet ovulated.

I guess everyone is different and it depends on what your cycles are like without the pill, not 'because' of the pill iykwim.
