How long did you wait to have intercourse after giving birth?
Was it a C-section, or Vaginal?
If Vaginal did you have stitches?
I would like to know because I had a 2nd degree tear and am not sure how long I should wait before attempting intercourse with the hubby.
Thanks!

I had very heavy lochia bleeding for 8 weeks straight.
We attempted sex around 9-10 weeks after.
It was quite painful though. I didn't have any taring when giving birth but the after bleeding made me feel very raw, if that makes sense.

I had a 2nd degree tear in the same spot after both births. I waited until my 6 week check up to get the all clear. Was pretty tender for a while!

Vaginal birth. Ended up with stiches as I was cut. We waited just shy of 6 months, but I was bleeding for 4, and we were both to tired to do anything before that.

A few days after I left hospital... I left hospital when DD was 4 days old.
I had a caesarean.
It was all about positioning though, there was no way I'd have been able to manage the majority of positions...

:o Ages....:o I mean ages.....
I bled for 10-12 weeks, so we are talking about 5-6 months:o poor DP...
I had a vaginal birth, and tore from end to end:o, I was so scared I break:o
3 Weeks, vaginal birth, 1st degree tear. DH reckons he could feel the stiches a little bit, and it was a little stingy at first, but after that it was great! :D

7 weeks second degree tear exterior and along vaginal wall...
But I was ready before that.... DH was just a little shy of hurting me... so opted to wait for another few weeks.
No pain whatsoever... in fact, absolutely incredible.. extremely sensitive and um,.. really really good... :p

Honestly I thinks it's when you feel ready but that being said I'd probably wait until being checked out at 6 weeks with the stitches.
#1- vaginal birth, severe third degree tear so lots and lots of stitches and tenderness, I couldn't sit with out a pillow for about 4months after the birth so he wasn't allowed any where near me until about 6months onwards.
#2 - vaginal birth slight graze no stitches but I was very dry and had some issues relating to my first delivery arise so was a good 7-8 months before anything happened (might have been earlier if he hadn't gone to the other side of the country when DD was 4mo though)
#3 - vaginal birth, with labial graze no stitches but felt ready and able to from 4weeks.

I made the ex wait until after the 6 week checkup I think. I had a few stitches and was extremely sore and tender there for quite a few weeks after Ty came out.... it was ouchies to walk or sit need alone anything else! Even then I was paranoid about ripping it open so it didn't last too long!

It was 4 weeks after the birth. Vaginal birth with tear (doc would not tell me how many stitches). After a week of pressure from my now ex husband, I gave in. Didn't hurt, just more uncomfortable with no pleasure for me..think I was still numb. Got him off my back though. At least I wont have to worry about it this time (33 weeks with his 2nd child):smiliedance:

With DS is was around the 3-4 month mark. DD it was around 6 weeks. Both vaginal stitches with DS and nothing with DD. It was very uncomfortable, it still is.

I had a VB with a second degree tear, and a first degree tear in my urethera (ouch), but we BD'd the day before my 6 week check up. Was uncomfy, and hurt a little, but nothing like I thought it would
I only bled for 10 days post partum.
I still have a slight amount of worry in teh back of my mind, but it's gettting better and better each time;)

I waited 14 weeks with my first. His birth was a straight forward NB with no stitches or grazes.
I waited 8 weeks with my second.. again his birth was the same but I had a few grazes!

I waited about 7 weeks after both of my births. I had c-sections for both but was still bleeding until about 7 weeks. Once the bleeding stopped it was all go.

I had a cs and dh and I never got back into the swing of things for at least 6 or so months:o
I just had no libido at all. I even had a blood test to find out why and it came back with quite low Ostregen (sp?) levals, probably because of bf.

3 weeks, 9 internal stitches...agony.
I had an infection in my uterus after the birth so couldn't do anything until it had cleared up.
