Rings

I am wondering, when you get married do you just wear the wedding ring or both engagemt and wedding????

I have a nice engagement ring, and thought I could get a ring to put along side for a wedding ring, but my friend reckons you get a new one, and just wear that???:confused:

So what are you doing? Planning to do???

i would wear both but my engagement ring rubs on my wedding ring so not to damage either i only wear my wedding ring everyday and then both for special occations.

But that is just my opinion, each to ther own hun I also love my engagement ring and never want to change it

I wear them both all the time.. Have never heard of someone no longer wearing the engagement ring once they were married..

I had my wedding ring made to sit perfectly with my engagement ring but friends of mine have had their rings solded together.

No way would I not wear my engagment ring, I love it.

You wear them all! I can't wait to get an eternity ring and stack that up with my engagement ring and wedding ring, so I will have 3 on the one finger.
I must admit that I take both off at home, my engagement ring setting is high and I don't want to scratch DD.
But, i have never heard of wearing just one ring when married! Most wedding bands are fairly plain.

I wear both my engagement and wedding rings together. I love them both so much and they just "go" together.

I'll be wearing both together, I couldn't imagine not wearing my engagement ring and have never heard of anyone just wearing the wedding ring and not the engagement ring - I mean, not unless there's a reason like scratching bub or getting caught on machinery or something.

its personal choice whether you wear them both together..i will only be wearing my wedding band as im studying nursing & we arent supposed to wear engagement rings (mine is a square diamond & may cause some skin damage esp to the elderly) but if i had a choice whether i could or not i would wear both

I wear my engagement ring when I'm going out somewhere special, other than that I just wear my wedding ring. When I worked all the time I wore both, but I'm so paranoid about the stone I don't wear it at home or around the shops etc, especially with lifting small children and having them get caught on it (no - it's a sapphire, not a large diamond, but I've already destroyed a claddagh ring that was flat by getting the crown caught on a desk at a funny angle and ripping the ring in half).

I wear all 3 on the one finger:

1) Plain (Traditional) wedding ring
2) Princess cut engagement ring
3) Eternity ring (Same shape as wedding ring but with tiny princess cuts along it)

Whenever I am home or as soon as I get home from work etc, I take them all off (except for my wedding ring) and sleep with just my wedding ring (I wake up with a swollen finger if I have them all on at night!)

I wear both together all the time. You just have to make sure that if your engagement ring is 9 carat that your wedder is as well, or that they are both 18 carat or whatever, otherwise if one was 18c and the other 9c, the 18c would be damaged over time from the rubbing of the harder 9c. If that makes sense.

I wear both my engagement ring and my wedding ring. I will also wear my eternity ring when I get it. I love them all individually and even more when they are together.

One of my friends had her engagement ring made into a new ring to wear as a wedding ring because she only wanted to wear one ring. Each to their own I say.

I wear both of mine all the time, I had my wedding ring made to sit flush with my engagement ring. Dh has said that he doesn't want me to take them off, and I can't wait for my eternity ring that I will be getting in July.:D

I wear my wedding ring day to day but only tend to wear my engagement when I go out. Its only because the two rings together touch my knuckle and Ive had a problem with fingers swelling since giving birth to DS 18 months ago :o Otherwise I would probably wear them all the time. I never took my engagement ring off before we were married :no: I got a bezel setting so that I wouldnt have to worry about scratching or knocking the stone out

My wedding ring is shaped to fit my engagement ring and looks odd without the engagement ring - so I wear both together. In fact, to stop them rubbing on each other, I got them soldered together :)

I can't wear EITHER ATM though - my fingers always get a bit swollen in pg, and they don't fit ATM...I've been wearing another diamond ring DH bought me on my wedding finger, just to have a ring on it, but even that's getting too small now :(

Wow :) My Mum just wears her wedding ring, and her engagement when she goes out etc. My engagement ring is small, so I can wear it all the time.
I think I will buy a wedding ring to wear it all the time....but DP might have other ideas :rolleyes: he normally does :p
