My daughter was born on her due date, very rare I think!!! She was 6lbs 10oz, 49cm long and a natural birth. Dont think my body could hold anything bigger :laughing:

Then I had twins who were a month early weighing 6lb and 4lb 13oz, tiny in comparison x

I went to 42 weeks and was induced and my bub was born weighing 10pnd 7oz!!! Wanted natural but ended up with c/s because his shoulders were stuck.

i didnt have diabetes, just had one massive baby boy!!

My daughter was just over 9 pound....the docs told me I would have a nice little 6 pounders! I am pregnant again and this time they've told me this one will be big...so maybe I will have a smaller one!??

My boy was 11lb 6oz or 5.1kgs. After labouring for 15 hours i was casually told he hadnt desended into my pelivs and needed to be delivered by c-section, thank goodness!!
DS1 born in March 06 was 10pound 3 and born naturally ! lol :yes:
DS2 born in August 09 was 10 pound 2 also born naturally :yelclap:
I feel very blessed that i can birth these big babies all on my own! Its tough work
My MIL puts me to shame, she's 4ft 11, and had two 10-11lb babies without any pain relief or tearing! The other two she had were smaller, lol.
Anyway mine, DS was 8lb 4 and was dated a further 3 weeks back on U/S then came 10 days late after induction and emergency caesar.
DD was 5lb 8oz plann caesar on her due date - original, not the one dated from u/s because by the time I had a 36 week u/s (high risk) she was supposedly due in July (she was due and born in APRIL).

i replied earlier about my liltlle or big man born 10pd 1oz and 15 days late all natural home birth cant believe its been 8 months
ive just had my ultera sound for no 2 and buba looks huge they told me the whole of my last pregnancy the baby was big this time i told them i dont want to know
but here hopeing for a lil one this time and on the due date would be great especialy with my home birth plan again will let u know some time end of march

My gorgeous girl was 7lbs exactly - which I was quite glad about given she was breach!! :D

My 1st was 7pound 12 ounces (3.56kg) a day before his due date and my 2nd was 10 pound 1 ounce (4.65kg) a day before her due date. Both all natural, no drugs and a 22 minute labour and 8 minute labour.
Im pregnant with number 3 and due April 13th '10.. So i wont be venturing to far from home this time!
My dd was 1.35kg and 8.5wks early c-sect due to pre-eclampsia
My bub was born 11 weeks early. He was 1180g, 37.5cm long and had a head circ of 27cm. He is now a chubby 10kg and has his first birthday in 6 weeks. He is my miracle baby!

My first was 10.1lbs or 4.6kgs,i was lucky enough to avoid a ceasar but after 24 hrs of labour did need an episiotomy and had 3rd degree tearing ouch ouch ouch
second was 8.6lbs
third was 9.6 lbs
so mine have gone up and down all were natural and i had severe tears with all 3

I was induced at 42 weeks (14 days overdue)!!! My son Taj was 9lb 1oz, 56cm and HC 37cm!!! I didnt have stitches!!!
I thought i would have a small baby because i was 6lb 14oz and my partner was 6lb 10oz!!!

I have now given birth to my twins, two boys born at 36 weeks following an induction. Twin 1 was 7lb 7oz (3.6kg), 51cm long and a head circumference of 36cm. Twin 2 was 7lb (3.1kg) 51cm long and a head circumference of 34.5cm.

WOW, thats a fantastic size for your twins! All mine have been under 7lb's. I couldnt imagine having 2 in there at that size.. Well done!

DS was 48cm long and 7 pound 1 (3225grams). I can't even begin to imagine what it would have been like to have 2 of him inside me. WOW :yelclap:

I have 5 kids and was induced with all of them - they seemed to like it in there! Not very fun labouring that way, or pushing them out but still avoided c-section thankfully.

This might sound like a brag...but I assure you it isn't, I am just still in shock about it.......My daughter was 9 pound exactly but my son was born two weeks ago weighing 10 pound 1 oz, 56.5cm. Born day before he was due. No drugs, no tearing and I am normally a size 6. If I can do that anyone can. Just goes to show you never know what your body is capable of ladies!

My DD was 4.5kg or 9lb 15 oz in old money... My obstetrician thought it was 3.5kg - She was 'off' by 1kg!!! ~2lb 4oz
Lesson learnt as labour was not FUN when DD got stuck... I'm due in June and definitely asking for a scan to find out the size!!

Sounds much like my husband, he was 10lb 10oz born and 62.5cms long. Amazing!

My first girl was a week early and was 9lb 2oz and my second girl was a little over a week late and was 9lb 6....natural and quick labours but second was definately more difficult then the first..got to the point were in the dayz just before i had her i was having trouble breathing and sleeping coz she was so big for me..still both very big healthy girls..:)

My Son Taine was 8lbs 8oz and was 54 cm long, he was 6 days early.
He would have been closer to 9lbs if i had made it to 40 weeks, he just couldn't wait.
Mine was two weeks early & weighed 3.505 and was 50cm long. He's since over doubled his birth weight & he's just over two months! He's a big boy now!

Having Charlie didnt hrt one bit it was the bloody contractions tha drove me insane.
I had two shots of morphine which did nothing and also gas...which also did nothing lol.

Chloe was 8lb 14oz. She was one day late, though my waters broke on the day she was due!! We thought she would make it, but she just missed out!!

I would like to share that DS was born 4 weeks premmie at 3.03kg and 49cm. I got him weighed and measured today at 4.5 months and almost died when reading the scales. He is now 70cm long and 9.1kg :eek: He's now 97th percentile for length, but has fallen off the chart for weight lol :rolleyes:
He only gets 2 200ml bottles of formula during the day, 1 250ml bottle of formula before bed and the rest is small breastfeeds.
Guess my milk is good enough for him afterall. TAKE THAT!!! Silly SCN nurses :p

my daughter was born 10.03.10 weighing 7p 10ounces (3.4kg) and 42cm
it blows me away they can be so different! my daughter weighed in at 4kg at 7wks nd 47cm i couldnt beleive my lil girl was 6wks old and still smaller than my sons birth wieght! she is technically underweight but the CHN and GP isnt worried they think its just her body type, she very heathly, bright and feeds great!

hi, my ds1 was 9lb 4oz, dd2 8lb3oz, dd3 9lb 4oz, and dd4 9lb6 oz, all of them largish and i did not tare(?) or have pain relief but also i think even if they were smaller or bigger the pain would still have been the same ( it was not bad).
All my boys were Vaginal births

I had big babies too. My first was 8 pounds 13 oz and my second was 10 pounds 5oz. I would like to have another baby but I am scared about how big the baby would be. I only put on 13kg with both of my pregnancies and I am not a big person. I weigh 57kg and i am 173cm tall so I dont know why my babies are so big.

Chantel I'm the opposite I'm 48kg and 165cm my son was 6lb 5 and my dd was 5lb 4, she's 14wks now and still tiny at only 9lbs. I don't want to have anymore because mine get smaller. My dd and I had to stay in hospital 7 days as even though she was 14 days over she was acting like a premmie lethargic and sleepy and wouldn't feed so she had to stay on special care and be tube fed

unfortunatley you dont get to choose how big bub is. My hubby and I were average bubs and we created a giant, hehe!

DS2 was 2 days overdue and was 8lbs 6.5oz and 52cm long.
Both natural births with pethadine, 5 hour active labour with DS1 incl 45 minutes of pushing and 3 hour active labour with DS2 incl 4 minutes of pushing. Great labours, no complications or tearing etc
I was like firstbubin nov10...a tiny baby and expected the same to come from me. But had 5 giants...the smallest 9lb 8 and biggest 10lb 8, the boys were bigger than the girls (only just). And they did tend to get bigger as i went along according to sex anyway. You never can tell

I love this thread, its amazing how each baby varies. My dd is 17wks amd is 9lb 4oz and is 55cm long which is smaller than newborns I've seen on the thread! She was 2wks late and only 5lb 4. Perfectly healthy. And I don't smoke or drink or do drugs, I still wonder why? Her brother was small 6lb 5 and 50cm doctor and midwife said I just make small babies. I don't want anymore then. Our dd was in speci care and being tube feed becuase shed been acting like a premmie.
my son was 3.95kgs and was 51cm:)
After having two 9lb 5 babies I knew that this one wouldnt be smaller then that. I wasnt wrong 10lb 2. He actually looks smaller then his brother and sister though.
Always think when people are shocked by sizes, its not the weight of the baby that makes a birth difficult it is the head. My "lil man" had the biggest head of the family and did the least amount of damage though, 38cm.
Time to go back and adoringly stare at him!
DD was 11 days late and came out 9lb 2ounces 55 cm long. They all told me she'd be 6lb!!

It was almost 14 years ago and plancent brain has kicked in so I can't remember all the details but I do know she was 10pd 1. 57cm is a vague recollection for her length. Can't recall at all her head size but I know it was huge - it still is. Her head is the biggest in the family - across male and female. And we're a big family.
She was all in proportion though, and is still beautifully so. Be interesting to see what size this one is....
Our bub was 4.7kg (10 pound 6 ounces) when she was born. This is bigger than both me and DP! And was bigger than I expected her to be. Her length was about spot on (56cm), but I thought she'd be a max of 4.2kg. I guess she was 12 days late though...

DD was only 2.987 kg born at 40+6, despite me being the size of a small truck!
My daughter was 10lb 3oz due to gestational diabetes she was delivered emergency c section after prolapsed cord at 39 weeks.
My son was 7lb 10oz he was delivered emergency c section at 38 weeks because of transverse lye.
Baby number three on the way due 23rd Feb 2011, hoping for a vba2c.
In addition to the previous 3 mentioned, Isabella was 3.56kg at 38 weeks, induced due to high BP and GD. 51cm long and 34cm head. Second largest of my bunch!

Noah was 1.89 kgs or 4.1 pounds.. he was sooooooo tiny and 5 weeks early.
DD was 3.7kg, about 8.3lbs, 49.5cm. Had a waterbirth and gas. DS was 4.32kg, (9.5lbs), 54cm long., had a normal birth with gas. Aimed 4 waterbirth again but was not happening. I thought i was going to die!!! His head was 39.5 cm!! Poor me LOL. Didn't tear with either though.
Zadie was 3280g or 7.2 pounds and she was 4 weeks early! Hate to think how big she would have been if she went full term.
My baby was 3.1 kgs (6.8 lbs.). I don't know how long she is.

DD1 was 6lbs 1oz (2.74kg) born on her due date. She was small, but I had a 19 hour labour, needed an episiotomy and forceps delivery = 3rd degree tear.
DD2 was 7lbs 2oz (3.22kg) 5 days over due. She was bigger than her sister and I had a drug free birth and not so much as a graze! She came quickly too, my whole labour was less than 3 hours.

Mine was 10lb 3oz...and 56cm long. Must have been the longest labour ever of a total 68 hours from the first hard contraction. Had gas but ended up having a c-section when cervix started to swell and close again! Who knew that could happen?

I agree! Doctors have no idea how big the baby will be...even on a scan...they said they can be wrong in up to 1 kg in either direction of the baby's actual weight!

Hi Milkshake, My 3rd baby was 9lb 1oz, too! I've equalled the record. Baby no 1 was 8lb 4oz, baby no 2 was 8lb 12 oz, baby no 3 was 9lb 1oz and baby no 4 was 8 lb 4 oz. So it isn't entirely true that they get bigger each time - only til number four! My number 3 was 10 days overdue, so maybe I don't officially qualify. Number 4 was also 10 days over, and was still smaller. Who's next? :eek:

My first was 9lb 10 1/2oz, 13 days past EDD. a couple of hours after i had her a nurse come in and told me, oh they only get bigger(bites on fingernails nervously)
Second was a beautiful 8lb, 4 days past EDD, ahhh the relief!!!
DD was 9pound 9, 4.3kgs, born with Vac extraction, episiotomy. All good though, definitely needed the help to get her out!
She was a biggie, almost fitted straight into size 00!!

My first born Angus was born on the 29th Oct 2000 after just under 8 hours of labour and not even a graze and was 7 pound 9 ounces and was 11 days over due, second born was Caleb on the 8th Nov 2002 bout 10 days over due and after 48 hours of labour and ended in an emergancy c-section and he was 11 pound 2 & 1/2 ounces then our last born Tamara was born on the 14th April 2006 she was 2 days over due and was planned c-section due to the exit being blocked, she was 7 pound 13 ounces.

My little man was born 4 days over due. He was induced but still wouldn't come out, then arrived via c-section... He surprised us all by being 4.5kg and 59cm long. Afterwards the doctors informed me that if i have another child that i would be induced 2-3 weeks earlier as he was soo big for a first child, that more than likely my second child will be bigger.... i haven't been game enough to go back for more.... just yet.

My second was 3 weeks early and born at home :freakingout: as the hospital told me i was only at the start of my labour and contractions were 20 minutes apart but less than 2 hours later she was born 9lb 4oz. Even managed to deliver the placenta myself before ambulance arrived! :cantbelieveit:

DS born 10 overdue 2hr labour with a shot of pethidine. Weighed 6 pounds 5 ounces. 50cm long
DD2 incuded 4 days early 2hr labour drug free! Weighed 7 pounds 2 ounces 49cm long. And no tearing or grazes with all of them!!! (so so lucky!!!)

My son Leland was born at 39weeks and 8pounds, 50cms.
( Oh and at all my checkups the midwife kept telling me he was going to be no more then 6pounds because I was so little ) well love looks can deceiving. Lol
Yes looks can be deceiving, I had a scan at 39wks cause I was worried about my size and I was assured that bub was about 8pound same as my first bub, but how wrong were they when I had a natural birth, (got torn) my big bub was 11pound 5!!!! :eek:
