my third and only girl was 10lb 7ozs!!! she was huge!

my 1st was an 8lb 4ozs boy, 2nd was 8lb 12ozs boy, 3rd was as above and 4th was induced on the exact due date because of the size of my daughter, he was a couple of oz s off 10lb at 9lb 12ozs...thank god they agreeed to induce him as I knew he was getting big. All my babies were 14 days late, except for the 4th of course....

My daughter is 11 now and you wouldnt have thought she was the biggest, she is very slim and delicate....very weird!!

My second was 9lbs 2oz (4150gm) 51cm and 9 days late!!! (but then born in a hurry didnt make it to hospital..lol)
No stitches with either.

DD born 21/3/05 by c/section weighed 8lbs 7oz or 3.8kg. She was 50.5cm long. She is 3.5 years old now and weighs a bit over 15kg and approx 100cm tall.

Bubs number 2 (a boy) is 33.5 weeks gestation at the moment and so far my OB will only comment that he is certainly a 'decent' size. I just wish I had a clearer definition of what a 'decent' size was :laughing:

Hi, My little man was born 8 days early weighing in at a whopping 9 pd 12 oz. Complicated birth leading to neonatal ICU for 5 days and Special care unit for 5 days. he had to be resusitated and had his clavicle fractured. (shoulder dystoscia). Not a pleasant experience. #2 due 18/02/09 -will definately be by c-section without a doubt. At the 12 week scan #2 was already measuring bigger than big brother Jackson.

My Little-ish man was 3.924kg (8lb 11oz) and after having him naturally....im glad he wasnt any bigger!

He is now 4.5 months and over 8kg...is this big or what? :rolleyes:

Well my first one was 5 weeks premmie and weighed 6lb2oz second one was 9lb 3ozs and six days late, third one was 1 week early weighed 9lb forth one was 6days late and weighed 11lb 9 fifth one weighed 10lb 8 and hopefully the one i am carrying now will be a smaller one i can dream cant i lol:yelclap:

DS#1 was 6lb 3 (2820g 35cm H/C, 5 weeks early 49cm long) 1hour 30 min labour

DS#2 was 9lb 13oz (4460g 37cm H/C, 51cm long) 7 hour labour

DS#3 was 10lb 2oz (4600g 39cm H/C, 52cm long) 1 hour 13 min labour

DD was 8lb 15oz (4040g 36.5cm H/C, 50.5cm long ) 50 min labour

All my labour's were spontaneous, all baby's were vaginal births, 2 drug free, 2 with gas, slight grazing with all births however no stitches....

I was flat on my back with all of them, 2 of them were born after less than 5 mins in delivery room.

well noah was 8.9 pounds. which i thought was big, then my sister had a baby boy 2 months ago, he was 11.5 pounds. yep.... ouch. and in 45 min, so no time for any drugs.

Jackson was 8 days early and weighed 7pound13(3.6kgs). He was pretty big compared to how small i was :)
And he was 50cms long and only had 2 stitches, but he was so worth the 18hr labor :)

My eldest jasmine was 2 days late and weighed 2.44 kilos or 5p6oz and was 49 cm long

and Chelsea who was born in april 5 weeks prem was 2.2kilos or 5pound and 43 cms long

Jasmines labour was 4hrs with just gas no stitches

chelsea's labour was horrible 15hrs, induced at 35 weeks, confined to a bed gas and pethedine in the end rushed down to theatre for c section had spinal block but started to push so the doctors and nurses all 15 of them vaccuumed her out. Chelsea was born not breathing and without a heartbeat! Took 5 mins to bring her back

Bubs was born on 5th December 2008 weighing a nice 7lb 3oz. Not the big chubba we were expecting.

Hi all, my DS was born weighing 5 pound 4 ounces. My DD was born 3 yrs later weighing 5 pounds & 5 ounces - yes I really excelled myself the second time. My OB calls me "The little baby lady" we are TTC no 3 and I will be happy to have a 6 pounder. Little babies may be easy (kind of - they slide back up) to give birth to but man they are hard work, 2-3 hour feeds, breast feeding issues (too weak to feed) juandice etc... I would love to have a healthy robust 7-8 pound baby anyday :):):):):)

My son was 9pd 11oz, he is my first born i had him naturally after 22hrs of hard labour.

I was pushing for 3 1/2 hrs before they got the doc who did a full episiotomy and vacuum assist, i also got 4th degree tears.

I was 9pd 15 when i was born but my partner was 6pd 5. So it could have gone either way i suppose.

Zachery who is 13 years old - weighed 7Ibs 15 oz.
Nicholas who is 10 years old - weighed 9Ibs 110z - delivered naturally!
Cameron who is 7 years old - weighed 10Ibs 13oz
and our last Kyle who is 3 years old - weighed only 8Ibs 3ozs

I was induced at 40 + 5 weeks...and to think they were going to let me go another week, i hate to think how much bigger he would have got! He was born naturally but terribly!
He was the biggest baby my midwife had delivered. :smiliedance:

yay to you! did you know ur son was going to be so big? My son is now almost 5 months and weighs 9kgs! He looks a lot older than he is. Its nice to have big healthy babies but its a bit sad they lose the little baby look so quick!

I had a feeling he was going to be large, all babies in my family are born at at least 8 pounds, but I had no idea he was going to be this big! Everytime I went for an appointment or scan I'd ask for a ball park of his weight and they would always tell me it was impossible to know, come around 39 weeks I ballooned though and I could feel his legs and bum sticking out so I knew he was going to be a big one.

Wow 9kg already?! You're right though as long as they are healthy that is all that matters, but I agree you'd never know my DS was 10 weeks old he looks like he's 3 or 4 months old! Do you BF or FF? He is FF and I've noticed lately he is always hungry, eating 200ml or more sometimes every 3ish hours. Sometimes he will go 4 hours but he no longer sleeps through the night like he used to. Guess he's just very hungry!

Im not rushing into starting him on solids because he is quite content with his milk at the moment. i just give him small tastes eveynow and then.
Maybe your little one is going thru a growth spurt, or maybe he is just a hungry big boy:)

Well at least they told you! My word I was massive, honestly looked like I was having twins, even my maternity clothing was getting too snug! 240mls every 4 hours isn't too bad for a bub of 9 kg, but I think you are right that he was going through a growth spurt as today he has been back to 180-200ml every 4-6 hours, though we will see how he sleeps tonight, he is a hungry little piggy!

Hi Everyone.

My little guy was 9lb 2oz and my little girl was 9lb 3oz!! both vaginal deliveries....DS with lots of drugs and a 48 hour labour, while DD was a calm birth, no drugs and only 7 hours start to finish.

I posted in here a few years back before my daughter was born so i will updated the info to include her

Zachary - 4616grs (10lbs 3oz) and 53cm at 42 weeks
Dylan - 4450grs (9lbs 13oz) and 53cm at 39 weeks and 5 days
Travis - 3700grs (8lbs 3oz) and 48.5cm at 38 weeks
Vanessa - 3620grs (7lbs 15oz) and 50cm at 38 weeks

Also my DSD Tayla was 7lbs 11oz and 51.5cm at 39 weeks and 3 days (natural)

All were c-section babies and the two older boys were both born at the same time at 10:26am.

I had a late ultrasound in which they predicted my baby was a neat 7lb!! and therefore going to be very kind to his mother :no: yeah right!

4 weeks later after 22.5hrs of labour followed by E CS I surprised to be greeted with by 9lb 10oz DS who was 55.5cm long! :eek:

hey 1st bub was 10pd 9oz who is now 3 & a half... pregga's with second who as got docs gobsmack'd as he is huge if I went from 1st wld b 32wks but I'm measuring at 36wks had scan at 26wks he was measuring at 29wks hav anotha US soon people r shock'd as I've been getting ask'd u must'n hav 2much longer when I tell them I'm only 32wks they dum founded be interesting to see how big he is also weight at 26wk scan estimated was 1.3kg:laughing:

I think that you will find that there are a few ladies in this thread who have had babies at over 13lb and the two examples that immediately spring to mind (My DS being one of them), they were born at 36 weeks so would have been around 16lb if they had gone to term! I had a cs, but I know of one Mum who didn't ... ouch!

DS1 was 8pd 6
DS2 was 9pd 12

nsmonkey ... Don't be too worried ... my babies were 8lb 7oz @ 37 weeks, 13lb 2oz @ 36 weeks and then 9lb 8oz at 39 weeks, so they don't always necessarily get bigger!

Yep I dont even think I would class 10lb as big these days ... Although doctors will say otherwise LOL !

I know most of the HB babies last year & this year have all be around the 10lb mark & a few over that !

I just watched 'Medical Incredible' tonite & they showed a 14lber !!!! She was GORGEOUS !!!!

i know the feeling, my son was 13lbs 2oz at 4 weeks premmie.... and i had a vaginal breech birth - man i woulda killed for a c-section :rolleyes:
Im due on the 29th with a lil girl, but luckily she's only little - they think about 7lbs max (and thats if i go full term).... hopefully your 3rd wont be as big

I can honestly say to any mother that after having an exact 6lb,50cm bub at 42 weeks that i would rather have a big baby. Everyone i have talked to have said how much easier it is and I believe them. My daughter tore me a part. She was so tiny but caused so much pain. I couldn't sit down for 4 weeks, no joke.

zander and caleb (twins)were born 4 days over at 5 & 5 15. but their placenta was 15pound.
Not big, but they were twins and they had 36 heads (both0 and were 57cm long.

my 3rd braythe born 13 months later was 2 weeks early and 7 6. gain 36 head but 52cm long

My son was a buddha weighing 10lb 1oz lol. Almost 5 kgs he was. 54 cm long. A week over due. I had him naturally in 7 hrs which felt like forever. Only pain relief was Pethadine. Worked wonders omg! I felt soooo drugged though lol. No tearing either. I was lucky, but i bet next time, i'll suffer the total opposite haha!

I have no kids but my poor mum had some bigggg babies

Then me, I was two weeks early because they estimated I would be 14 pound.... but mum got away with me being 10 pound 9 ounces!

Scary thougt as my DP was 10pound 9 ounces to... so I tell everyone when I have kids they will be 20 pound hahahaha

Zac weighed 4p7oz.

Logan was 9 days early and weighed 3660g and dont know how long he was as the hospital I had him at, dont weigh them when they were born.

Just had my first bub...Casper Ethan Stewart...

He was 10lbs 13oz / 4.74kgs and 58cm long. Long labour that ended in him getting stuck when he flexed his head back rather than tuck his chin in and so he couldn't descend. Ended in emergency c/section which was a bit disappointing for me but he remained happy and healthy throughout so I would endure it all over again just to have him safe and sound.

My first child born 29th Sept 2004 was 8pound 2ounces. My son was born in the same month in 2007 and was 9pounds, honestly I didn't see the difference in the pain, but my husband reckons he noticed I was in more pain 2nd time around, my son having a big head and getting stuck wouldn't of helped, but the wonderful midwife figuired a way of getting him out a little bit more by me going onto my side and lifting my legs abit in the air, then I was able to go back on my back and push him out. Honestly I was in so much pain I couldn't move into any other positions ie squatting etc.

Apparently..

My DS was just over 9 pound born. I am 22 weeks with DS#2 and will be interested to see how big he is.

In my family, the babies seem to get smaller.. But you never know! Time will tell! :)

i read a few pages back that she had i think 5 kids and they were all over the place, first one waz like 9 pound than the last was 5 pound or somthing so i think it varies, i think it mite happen alot but its not 100% coz i do no plp that the second r smaller.

1st-17/07/07 was 10lbs 12oz -caesar-breech!

2nd-last friday night 11/09/2009 was

11lbs 11oz-NBAC,(Gas), 2 episiotomies! In the birth centre.

No gestational diabetes.

My 7 year old was born 9 pound and very long. I am glad this babies dadda isnt as tall as my eldests dad so hopefully this bubba wont be as big.

My eldest was 8lb 8oz and my second was 9lb 8oz :)
Eldest was 39wks and second was 40wks 3 days, both under 5hrs labour, natural, no interventions or pain relief (im only 161cm tall and 45kgs pre and post pregnancy)!
I am 21wks pregnant with my 3rd.

DS born by emergency c-section at 36 weeks was 7lb 15oz. who knows how big he would have been if he cooked for another 4 weeks.

bubs number 2 due december so lets she her size when she gets here.

DS 1 9lb 51cm, 10 days late!
DS 2 9lb 7oz 51cm, 1 week early!!!:eek:
DD 8lb 50cm, 5 days early!

Mine were:

DD - 10 lbs 2 oz 56cm length, 38cm head
DS- 10 lbs 13 oz 59cm length, 40 cm head...

bub no.3 - WHO KNOWS! bahaha!

Both c section births cause heads were too big to come out the other way!

and no gestational diabetes here either :) just fat healthy bubbas

My daughter, Emily, was born on the 13/4/09 (41wks 0d) weighing 8lb 8oz (3.86kg), 52cm long and a head circ of 36cm. I was pretty happy with her weight, the Dr. had estimated 10lb+ :)

My son Jay was 9 pound 15 or 4.5 kg and 55 cm long - so for a first baby a rather large shock. He is normal size now for his age but still eats like a horse!:laughing:. I am hoping my little girl due Jan 25th 2010 is not so large. Should not complain too much - a friend of mine had a 13 pounder!!!!
