My darlin' firstborn son was 9 days over cooked and he was 7 pounds 11 (or maybe it was 12) ounces or 3.5 kilos :smiliedance:

:p My daughter was 40 weeks gestation (to the day!)
Her weight was 3620g (8pd)
She was 54cms long and her head was 33cm
;) My son Jack was born at 40 weeks gestation
His weight was 4480g (9pd 14oz)
He was 59cms in length and his head was 36.5cm

Lochie was 2 wks early and was 7p 4
they had said i was going to have a big bub, well i didnt yay!!
Matilda was 2760 grams or 6.07lbs . . .delivered one day early by c-section
It was a shock to me cause everyone I knew had babies that were at least 8 lbs . .she is so tiny!!!
Ben was born at 40 wks (exactly) and weighed in at a whopping 10lbs 13oz(that's 4.9kg)!!! Emergency c/s, glad he didn't come out the right way!!!

my son (which is 2)was 10pound 1, and my daughter(14months) was 8 pound 10..
and YES i had them BOTH naturally :eek:
on the ultrasound it said it was gonna be a big baby(jayden) but the doctors thought he was only going to be 6-7pounds!lol with my daughter they induced me thinking she might get as big as jayden, plus she was late

I think It was Cosmic that asked me one day how much my DD weighed when she was born, and I really didn't have a clue.:laughing: She asked me how long she was and nope, I didn't know that either!
I could look it up and tell you, I mean I recorded it at birth but I honestly don't remember what she weighed.
Is this unusual??:confused: I know some people who have had 5 kids and can reel off all their weights, lengths, times they were born!!:eek: I know DD was born round 1pm, she weighed between 5lb and 7lb and I have absolutely no idea what length she was.
People ask me if she's really mine!!:laughing:
Em was 7lb (3.240kgs)
Kailah was 9lb 2oz (4.130kgs):eek:
The funny thing was I think Em was a much harder labour, longer too.
I had ALOT more stitches first time round too:thumbsdown:

Hi, Lochie was 6lb4oz (2840grams) full term
Jackson was 6lb3oz (2800grams) 5 weeks early.
Bith pretty easy labors (compared to other peoples) 4hours for Lochie and 47mins for Jack!!!

and she's growing fast within 2 days she had gained 200g me making some good milk lol

My son CJ was born induced 4 weeks early (after a month of going into labour!) and weighed 4lbs 2oz (1920grams) and was 42cm........ Hes 16 months old now and still doesnt fit on the growth chart, but thats ok-we can be short together :kiss:

alyssa was 8lb 15 (4040g) and 53cm. she was also posterior (her spine to my spine instead of the normal way tummy to spine) which made it LONG and PAINFUL. god bless epidurals!!

Ethany was 9lb 3oz. I am really small and no one could believe she was that big.
Xavier was 8lb 1 1/2 oz. I was glad he was not as big!! But he didn't waste any time growing once he got here. At his 6 week check he was the length, weight & head circ of an average 3 month old!
For 2 small parents i think i will have a couple of giants on my hands.

Chloe was born 7 weeks early and weighed 4lb, 7ounces and Simone was 2 days early and weighed 6lb, 2 ounces. The doctor did say that if Miss Chloe had gone full term she would have been a 10 pounder OUCH!!!!!!

Imogen was a tiny 2.8 kilos and 48 cms, 2 days early.

Length 33cm.
Cooper weighed in at 9 pounds & 1/2 an ounce or 4090 grams, 52cm long. He was 3 days overdue according to the ultrasound, but was born on his original due date given to us by our doctor on our first visit.
My cousins first son was over 13 pounds - luckily she had a c-section!

Can anyone who's had Gestational Diabetes tell me at what stage they delivered and what size their babies were??? I'd be very interested to know..

she was so small coz there was 1 less artery in the cord then there should have been so she didnt get as much nutrition as she should have :(
small size made for an easy birth though and when she was born all they (the mw and drs) said was; gorgeous baby. small but totally healthy :D :hugs:

wow he was a big boy like my DS who was 4320 & 55cms - so easy to bath and dress - little babies frighten me I wouldn't know what to do with one :laughing:
My son was born at 38 1/2 weeks at 10lbs.1oz (4540 gms), his head circumference was 39cm! and he was 55cm long! i am only 5'2 (161cms) tall so u can imagine how huge my belly looked in the 8th and 9th month of pregnancy. i looked 9 months when i was 5 months i was that huge. and i used to hate when people would say to me "gee your big" oh really, i hadnt noticed! :banghead: :D
my baby is the biggest in this thread. do i get a prize? lol...just kidding. :D

Im due to give birth in approx one week(15th may) and want to know if anyone else has been told their bub has a small head circumference my bubs circumference at this present time is 31.5 cm am wondering if any mums gave birth to a bub with a small head cirucmference?And were they healthy?How much did your bub weigh? Mine I ve been told is roughly 2.9kgs..
krissyandtommy, my SIL's bub was 7pd 13oz with a head circumference of 31.5cms, so don't worry and my DD was 8pd and had a 33cm head, and they were both full term and perfectly healthy!:thumbsup:

Thank you Kelly, you don't know how RELIEVED I am to hear from someone else with a similar head circumference. All the research I was doing online was doing my own head in, so it is a relief to know that your SIL'S bub was indeed a healthy bub. Guess I should be happy it may mean less tearing downstairs!:kiss: :kiss:

my second boy daniel was born 2 weeks early weighing 9 pounds 6 ounces!! (ouch) then...
my third boy joel was born 8 days early weighing 8 pound 4 ounces!
shows that they dont always get bigger with each one! (thank god!) :laughing:

I hate to think if she'd gone to 40 weeks, it took me 18 hrs to get her out as it was :no:

I hear you there!! After my first being 11lb, I begged for a c-section when I got pregnant with my second, but they said no. Then with #3, the minute I found out it was another boy, I again begged for a c-section because I knew that my boys would all be big. They let me go and see an OB who discussed it with me and he said he would leave it up to me. In the end, I decided that if I did have a c-section, I wouldn't be able to do stuff with my other kids for 6wks (including driving them to school) so I had no choice but to miss out again and have yet another monster baby.

Hi Jordyn Renee Heather 8lb 3.5oz (14 days overcooked), Atiana Christina Rivierre 8lb 4oz (7 days over cooked).
I also have a 7 year old sister who was 9lb 12oz and my mother had her the drug free way, no vacum or forceps needed, no epidural just alot of heavy pushing and stitches after .....OUCH!

Jack was born at 37 1/2 weeks (emergency caesar), weighed 5lb 6.5oz, or 2460gm, and was 48.5cm long, so the smallest so far. But at 10 months he weighed 8.75kg, so has certainly caught up !!

had a friend who had a baby 6 weeks before me he was 10lb 3oz nd 62cm and she had him natural with NO drugs :eek:

my son was born naturally with the help of an episiotomy and the vacuum.
i didnt want the epidural i wanted to go as long as i could drug free but i only made it about 8-10 hrs of my 14 hr labour wih no drugs (except for paracetemol) then i had the gas and just before i had to push i had the pethidine.
my son was born early at 38 1/2 weeks and he was born at 10lbs 1oz or 4.54kgs and was 55 cms long with a 39 head circumference.
he was a big boy. i did have gestational diabetes when pregnant but i suspect him being a big baby had more to do with him taking after his big daddy as he is still a big boy. not fat, just has a big build. if you get my drift. at 5 months he is quite tall and at 4 months he weighed 9 kgs but i havent had him weighed recently so i am not sure how much it is now.
I definitely feel for you sw33tn3ss!
Our bub was only 5lb 2oz at term and he was still hard to push out!

thats what i think. its more to do with his dads size than my GD. his dad is about 6ft something and has very big naturally built broad shoulders and narrow hips. much like a swimmers body (but with a bit of extra weight around the middle lol :D ) so DS also has broad shoulders and narrow hips and is very long. now at 5 months he wears size 00 or 0 tops and 000 bottoms but is quickly growing out of those.
DP's friends DS was only half the size of our DS when he was born and i was told she had a very quick & easy labour with no complications and asked for the epidural straight away. i have a very low tolerance to pain but i chose not to have one. i guess i was very determined to have the birth the way i wanted it. and i guess i'm quite stubborn and rebellious as everyone kept telling me i couldnt do it without the epidural. :rolleyes:

I didn't do the epidural either, just gas. Needles in my spine scare me, LOL. Both boys were in size 1 clothes by 6mths and size 2's at 12mths. Jacob (now 8.5) is in size 12-14. matthew is in size 2 pants and size 3-4 shirts.

In reply to what was said before about dads size & weight...sorry I have to disagree on my side lol! My ex husband is only 5'6 and a skinny runt of a thing and my first bubba was 8"11 (3.9kg) and 52cm long born on her due date and my second was 10"3 (4.6kg) and 52cms long 3 days late! And yes I did have GD with him. My third with my new man was born last year at 9lb (4kg) and 51.5cm long and that was 2 weeks early! But this dad is 6'8 so we were expecting her to be a big girl. The only complications was with my first as she was born baby & placenta all in one push...yep nasty....tore me badly & I hemmoridged & had stitches galore. The other 2 I did all natural no stitches and just a bit of gas with baby number 3 as she was posterior :thumbsdown: My 10 pounder was the easiest out of the lot! :confused:

My second 1998 (girl)...was 1 week overdue, and she weighed 7lb 10
My third 2003 (boy)...was 9 days early, and he weighed 6lb 14.5
All quite close in weight, and were all beautiful little miracles:yes:

My DS was born on April 25th this year weighed 7pound 12. He was 50cms long & head was 35cms
DD 8: 7lb, 8oz, natural, pethadine only, 9 hours, 48 mins 2 stitches
DD 6: 8lb, 8oz, very easy, 2hrs, 19mins, no drugs no stitches
DS 5: 8lb, 4 half oz, no drugs, 1 hour 8 minutes no stitches posterior, but turned at the last minute
DD 3: 10 lb, 2 half oz, terrible, posterior, all back pain, meconium, no drugs, 45 minutes labour very quick, and extremely painful, no stitches, but I think I should have.
I mean, the next one, which will be the last WILL be with an epidural!

This is still one of my fave subjects!
My "little" boy was 9lb 12oz or 4.4kg. The midwives nicknamed him "Buddah".
I had the works, all the drugs, assisted vacum birth, baby's hand on his head, cord round the neck, stiches and a PPB that required blood transfusions. It was great, lol!:banghead:
This is the reason why there will be a four year age gap between him and the next one, it was a lesson that took time to absorb, oh yeah I am am petrified that it will happen again!

DP is Richard Leslie and DS is Richard Anthony, we changed DS's middle name coz leslie is just too feminine for my liking.

13 days late! 9lb 4oz! 53 cm!
25 hour labour- no drugs for the first 23 hours, then gas (yuck!), pethidene, epidural, then emergency c-sec and from about 8 hours into it, inucing drip (forgot what it's called) and they kept increasing the level!! Not a nice experience - but a beautiful little girl came from it, so can't complain:)
DD1 - 7lb 10oz, gas, pethadine, 6 hrs, no stitches
DD2 - 7lb, gas, episiotomy, vacuum extracted, 8 hrs, stitches....major haemmoroids!!

first- was 9 lb 8- (10 hr labour with epidural and episiotomy)
Second- 10 lb 9 (born 3 weeks early!!!:eek: )- induced with pre-eclampsia, 3 hrs no drugs, no stitches!!!!
Third- 8 lb 5 ( she was my little one) labour was 53 minutes, again no drugs (no bloody time for any) and no stitches !!!!! (Also 2 weeks early, social induction so my husband could be there for the birth.

First DS 91 - 40 +3 weeks, 3780 gm. 50cm long. hc 34.5cm (approx 2.5hour labour - used a little gas)
Second DS 94 - 39 weeks, 3785gm. 53cm long. hc 35cm (approx 1.5 hours labour -posterior baby, no drugs)
Third DS 02 - 38 +2 weeks, 3700gm. 53 cm long. hc 34cm (breech c section)
Forth Baby, 1st DD 05 - 39+6 week, approx 3710gm.52 cm long. hc 34.5cm ( approx 10 hours, no drugs, homewater birth VBAC. Weight clothed the following day so probably alittle lighter)
So for me, everything was fairly consistant regarding size, weight, length and HC.
Gee I was so wishing for a 6 pounder last time around. LOL, she's still petite now though :)

My baby was 4400kg - 9 pound 12 oz and 54cm long when he was born 7 months ago and he felt like i was carrying around a televison in my stomach , i was huge, but all worth it in the end.
This is my first child also and i am not a large woman only 56kg and 160cm tall. but big babies seem to run in my husbands side of the family.
My sister in law had a 9 pound something for her first and then her second was 10 pound something and she isn't a big girl also.

dd3 was 7 pound 13 (3.5kg) 53.7cm long and now at 5 months she is 9.1kg and 69 cm long!!!!! 6 days early.
William was 6pound 15oz (or 3.16kg) and 48cm long.
He is now 9 months old and 9.5kg (time flies when you're having fun).
Had him at 37 weeks via caesarean. He's just perfect!!!

the doctors told me daniel would have been at least 12 and a half punds if i had carried to to term aaargh! glad that didnt happen. ;)

She actually 8lb 5 now 6 days later as she lost weight due to jaundice and problems breast feeding...I had to have a csection as she was posterior and just not coming out...after many hours of trying!

Then with DS2 he was 11 pound 2 1/2 ounces, 55 cm's long. I was in labour with him for 48 hours and then they figured out that he was stuck for some reason and decided to do an emergency c-section.:banghead: :eek:
Then with DD she was 7 pound 13 1/2 ounces, 50 cm's long. I found out 2 days before I had her that I had to have a c-section due to my pubic bone being in the way of the exit.:banghead:

Hi and welcome to bubhub. My first baby was 11lb and like you, I was freaking out about the "getting bigger each time" theory. But my second baby was only 8lb 3oz (which actually hurt more) and then my 3rd was 10lb 2oz. So I don't believe that theory at all, lol.
Gas didn't work for me either, but it gave me something to concentrate on and keep my breathing regular.

well that does make me feel a little better, cos Im 24 weeks pregnant now and have been a little apprehensive about the size of this bub!! And of course everyone tells me that they get bigger the more you have!!

(ps my Grand Father - nearly 15lbs - his mother could never have kids again - she was bed ridden 2 months)

My son was 11lb, which is 4,92kg, so I don't think she would have been 10lb. Probably closer to 8lb.

Good luck.....I begged for an induction with my second and third babies after my first was born weighin in at 11lb (4.98kg) and I was denied both times.

my lil man was 8pound 12ounces (4.020kg) even though i had a natural birth (mind u im only a lil person my total weight at 40weeks was 57kg) he was 12days overdue and couldnt have come a minute to soon! It was an experience i know i will ever forget!

was induced a month early with DS1 - 5lb 13oz - he had his hand up so I tore...
had DS2 naturally - just a bit of gas is all - 7lb 15oz - no tear!!! :smiliedance:

My friend had a baby at the beginning of the year... naturally... 12 pound 5oz... it really messed her up down there... as there was no stopping him or anything getting in his way... he just tore through it all. Alot of 3rd degree tearing. Ouchies! :eek:

She was born on 19/09/2006 and her name is Indiana Storm.

My boy was 7 pound 10 Oz but I am 4 foot 11.5 inches tall so as you can gather he may not have been that big BUT it sure as hell did me some damage, LOL.. He is safe and sound now though which I am happy about... :)

It wasn't true for me. Mine went from 11lb down to 8lb 3oz, then jumped up to 10lb 2oz. My GP has told me that my chances of having an average sized baby are very slim and if I did, that it would only happen if something went wrong with my pregnancy.

My Baby declan was 4.440kg 54cms long (his dad was 12lbs 2ounces) ouch for his mum.
For me, it wasn't Matthias' weight that was the problem. He had a HC of 37cms and then decided that he wanted his hand to come out at the same time. He got stuck in the canal with his hand on his head. After his head, I really didn't feel the rest. Hoping for a petite little girl next. It'd be nice to nurse a baby that actually feels like a baby.

My first boy was overdue by 2 weeks and was born 9Lb 2oz and 55cm long!
My second boy arrived one day early and was born 7Lb 7oz and 59cm long!!!
My third boy arrived on his due date and was 8Lb 4oz and 54cm long!!
Samantha was 8pound 7oz
Tommy was 9pound 5oz
Hannah was the smallest so far at 8pound 4oz
My first son was 13 days "overdue"
