boy or girl diet?

I have heard of diets to follow if one wishes to concieve a particular sex.
I am TTC no 2 and would dearly love a boy ( would be just as pleased for a girl)
Just wondering if any one has heard of any funny ideas for TTC a particular sex, just for fun really! Do you think there is any truth to it??
I read that if you want a girl you could do vinegar douches or baking soda for a boy!
I don't think i'd go that far.........

there is allot on this topic, i know because i have already looked into this! lol we are TTC our first soon and i have been reading up on TTC a boy!

Google the Shettles Method... this is scientific and based on facts. it still cannot gurantee a boy but it should improve your chances.. It is based on the fact that Y sperm (males) are faster than females (therefore will get to the egg first) however they are short lived and if they have to wait around for the egg (i.e you havnt ovulated) they will die off before the X sperm (females). Sperm can live inside you for up to 4 or 5 days apparently.

bacically.. track your ovulation.. right down to the day. Have sex the day of or just after ovulation, dont continue to have sex after that. You get one shot!

general tips:

* the male should obstain from ejaculating a week before 'the deed' (build up those boys) and wear loose clothing, heat and testicles dont mix, and the Y sperm (males) will go first!
* eat alcaline foods, Y sperm favour this
* do it 'doggy style' it gets closer to the cervix
* you should orgasam before or with your partner (the more the better) as apparently the mucus this results in favours Y sperm...

Of course there are other ways, some people swear by the moon phases, certain dates, etc, etc however I personally believe this is the only way to really increase your chances. It makes sence when you read about it.

The diet idea basically helps change your acidity levels, i am pretty sure the boys favour an alkaline body, therefore if you eat alkaline foods (google it and you will find lists!) your vagina will become more alkaline and therefore favour the boys (the girls like it acidic). (If i have that the wrong way round tell me someone!)

I am personally am not really going to do the diet thing and am concentrating on tracking my ovulation and doing all the little tips to get everything a good shot!
