 ladies-

can someone please give me some tips on how to make cloth work for my 7 & 1/2 month old daughter. :)

I've been using cloth nappies successfully on my son for over a year & 1/2 - mainly BB- hemp, bamboo & Magic Alls, with a handful of Very Baby and Keester Kovers & some Bubble Buds for night- mostly I use fitteds with wool covers,
but I can not get them to work for Pearl.
They aren't on for long and she is absolutely saturated- not even just a tad damp :(

Anyone have any suggestions?
Should I boost them differently?
Should I try some different nappies that might be better for girls?

I don't have boys so I can't really compare but I have daughters :p I find bubblebubs and bits for bots work best for Ebony

Well i use GK, BBH, magic alls, blueberrys, and berry plush for my girl and ive never had a leak..

The only thing i do different is if im using a BBH or a extra booster in a pocket I position it say in the middle of the nappy so its directly underneath her as opposed to with my son i would place it closer the the top of the nappy so it sat at the front..
IYKWIM..

Where in the nappy do you double over the inserts??

Apart from that im not sure.. Do they need a strip wash??

thanks ladies-
good suggestions-

I have been putting the extra boosters for Pearl in the middle, as opposed to the front for Hugh
the nappies are working fine for Hugh so I'd assume it's not actually the nappies themselves

it is driving me nuts-
I hate buying disposables when I have a perfectly good stash of nappies here!!

Pearl is 7.5 months??!! *picks up jaw from floor* I need a firmer grasp on time!

I used NCovered pockets on the girls with one mfibre booster and one folded hemp. Two at night.

I know D- it has flown-
she now crawls everywhere and pulls herself up to stand

might dig out my hemp boosters and try them as well as the bamboo I've already been using

If they are working for your son but not your daughter it sounds like she's a heavy wetter and they need more boosting (assuming you're changing frequently enough). Microfibre boosters are good to add absorbency without a lot of extra bulk but if you have some hemp ones already try those

I find Ebony's pee spreads front and back lol so I lay the boosters out end to end :)
