Hi I am new to Bubhub. My name is Rebecca (Bek) and I am 29, married with 2 boys and ttc#3. I really want a Homebirth and have been lucky enough to have moved to Perth this year where they have medicare funded community midwifery program. I guess I am about 90% sure about my choice and know that I can do it. Is it normal to be a little tentative until you form that relationship with your midwife?

My labours were fine. DS#1 started in birth centre but ended up with Syntocinon and epidural purely because I didn't have the confidence in my body and didn't know how my body birthed, 1 hr on Synt and baby was out. DS#2 I birthed in birth centre without any intervention. I just kept in my own space and focussed on what my body was doing and everything worked out beautifully.

Hello Student of Life:D
I found it to be a bit surreal untill i met with my midwife, a few times and had a chance to get to know her, also untill i booked her it felt a bit up in the air, i hope that answered your question:) goodluck with getting your bubba sooner rather than later!

Hi
goodluck with ttc:flowerz:

I'm a homebirth junkie :)

Just a little tip, if your not happy with the midwife they offer you, don't hesitate at all to request another....its your birth, your body, your choice.

I also suggest contacting the CMP to see if you can meet some of the midwives first so you can get a feel for them :D

but remember
to ask for what you want, don't feel obliged to settle for second best because you don't want to stir the pot. It is provided as a service with your tax money so in a loopy round way you are paying for it and you have the right to request the best :smiliedance:

Homebirth is freedom of birthchoice:yes:

Thanks Spirit, I really appreciate your insight. I'm sure there will be more questions along the way. :)
