View Full Version : Favourite Toys
I thought it might be a good idea to share recommendations for toys as it can be costly if you buy a dud and I spend too long trying to decide which one to buy!
I have a son, 13 months and I recommend the Little people Collection, we have the farm and stable and he loves it.
So, What's your child's favourite toy?

I would have to agree with the Little People Collection. My kids have the garage part to the collection, they have had it for a few years now and still love to play with it.

The best gift we ever got for our son ... now 3 - was a duplo table and blocks. There is no end to the creations he can make, he never gets bored with it, great for colour identification, fine motor skills, spacial awareness ... and generally just fun!
We call it the Survivor toy for it has outwitted, outplayed and outlasted any other toy in his collection. He's played with it daily for the last 18 months ... now that's value for money:thumbsup:

tyler loves her dora the explorer doll,,, and she has a fisher price fish bowl plays music and lights up she loves that,,, also bath book or soft book
Luca loves his fisher price learing house he is so happy with himself when he can make it 'sing'. sits there clapping himself - cause he is just sooo clever.
the fisher price puppy has also been a big hit. We just start singing one of the puppy songs whenever he gets a bit grizzly and he is distracted out of his grizzle mood.
also loves plastic salad servers and old water bottle filled with dri rice and pasta - wish I had thought of those before the $100's spend on 'toys'

i got the learning house for tyler i cant wait till she can play with she just looks at it now,,, she has that puppy as well is it the one that said foot hand and stuff when you touch it????
yep that is the puppy. he hasn't had that much success making it 'sing' but loves it when we do and can get the hand, feet etc noises out of it.
I just sit Luca infront of the hous and he plays with the different bits and bobs, he loves it when we stand him up and he can reach the high stuff.

tyler throws the puppy when she cant get it to sing:rolleyes: i will have to try just putting tyler in front of the house and see if she plays with it
I have a 14 month old and he really loves his cardboard books that have buttons that make noises - we have a frog, horse, duck and siren book. He looooves pressing the button. And if I say to him 'press the button' he will go and find one of those books and yep...press the button!
my ds is 4 and for the last 2 years his favourite "toy" is crab pots. yes im serious. seeing his dad go out crabbing (yes we live on the gold coast. he loves nothing more than to go in the yard and pretend to be in a boat throwing real crab pots into the yard, checking them and throwing them back. also he likes to go to the local beach and throw a graffelin hook into the water and pull it back. he could do this for hours. my point being sometimes the simplist things are often the most used.
