Hi.Iam after information about circumcision. Iam aware people have different views and opinions and i respect peoples views, but please do not criticise me for posting this thread,Iam only after information.
Iam 35 weeks pregnant, and dont yet know the sex of my unborn child, but should it be a boy, iam looking into circumcision. How much does it cost, is any of it covered by medicare, and does anyone know where abouts on the nsw central coast it is performed and if you have had your son done, any complications, regrets, methods used. ect.
Any help or advice would be great.
Thanks:)

different states have different rules about whether you can get it done in a public hospital or not.
also, some doctors will only do if there is a medical need to have it done.
I would recommend speaking to your paediatrician.

Hi
If you're after names of doctor's who perform the procedure, contacting a member here by the name of 'circangel' could be your best bet. This member DOES NOT provide personal recommendations of these doctors, (that's something you need to research yourself) only their names and contact details.
Good luck with your decision.
Hi there
I had ds2 done 2 1/2 wks ago, cost $360 got $100 back off m/care. Im from the central coast nsw to so PM me for the details of the doctor if you want. and the name of a dr i wouldnt recomend(if i am allowed to do that on here, he was bodgy)
I am very happy with my sons, heaps happier than ds1,
hope this helps
I dont live in NSW but i had my son done when he was 10 days old.
I thought that i wanted to have it done so i asked the midwife at the hospital for some information about it as that particular hospital (public) didn't do them.
The midwife was really helpful and gave me information on 2 doctors in adelaide who do them and a referral for Kai (which is neccessary in adel to get them done)
It went really smoothly and the docotor was so helpful, even gave me his mobile number should i have any questions or concerns once we were home.
I did end up calling him on a sunday evening at 8pm as ds was bleeding a little after his bath and the dr was so supportive and reassuring.
