Does anyone have any good bible memory verses to teach to kids? I'm thinking of writing some songs to make the memorising part easier, and I'm looking for some good verses. Thanks :)

OMIGOODNESS I think the memory verses I had to sing when i was worshipleading in the kidschurch program a few years back were the only ones that stuk!

I remeber "the holy spirit will come to u and u will receive power Acts 1:8"

it was kinda like a rap sort of it was really catchy!

I wonder if u can go to the Oasis kids church program online and get any?? thats what program we did at kids church they might have a few u could download to get some ideas???

Hello Mrs. Tea!!
Colin Buchanan has some wonderful songs that are straight scriptures put to music. I'd definitely grab his stuff!

Ummmm, most of the ones I know have already been put to music, but two that I'm pretty sure haven't and would be failry easy to would be 2 Timothy 3:16 & Romans 8:38.

Love,
Nan. xx

Thanks Nan, I've heard that CB cd and it's really good isn't it? There don't seem to be too many others around though which is why I thought i'd try to write some more (and I want to actually use the piano we bought each other for Xmas :o ). I'll check out those verses :)

Hi tealady...

We have just taught our dd (3.5yrs) her first verse (i think we were a bit late in starting?) it is - You are the salt of the earth..we havent taught her where it is yet but its a start- We were doing devotions & that was the verse for the day (usually only dh & i try & remember them as some are quite long) but as it was such a short & simple verse we taught her...i know someone once told me to teach them all the SMALL verses as they are the easiest to remember. I guess if you put them into song its even easier...but i cant think of any atm. Its amazing what they remember though Addy LOVES 'I m in the Lords Army' song & even better they sing it at her kindy!:) Praise God for Christian schools
