Hi just want to know if labour scares you or if it has put you off having any more.
Because when i was pregnant with my 2nd i was terrified of going through it again to the point of making myself sick, I know the end result is so worth it but it scares me, and i don't know if i can go through it again.
Am i the only one who feels like this????

It is a scary thought especially knowing what you have to go through. I was pretty worried each time and I knew I wanted an epidural. :)

To tell you the truth though the thing that scares me the most is morning sickness because that goes on for months and months but labour only takes a day at the most.

I had a horrendous birth with DD1 and now pregnant. I am a bit worried about labour, especially the complicatins, but I am scared of c-section which the OB is sugesting-hmmmmm- I guess I am scared of the unknown, I rather go through labour again. Funny that?!? But will see how I feel as I get closer to the date-lol- I might freak out-lol.

I had a pretty good birth with my first bub so I was really looking forward to labour the second time.

But I think if it wasn't a great experience the first time it would be pretty normal to feel the way the you do :hugs:
There are lots of books out there that can help you come to terms with your fear before labour starts, "Birthing from Within" is really good if you can get a copy.

I have had two natural births and will have my third in July!

Of course with my first I didn't get 'scared' beacuse to be honest I had no idea what I was about to go thru..

My second yes.. it passed my mind.. 'Omg what have I done.. there is no way out now!' sorta thing.. but I had that thought well before the actual birth.

My third time around was only 2-3 weeks ago.. we were away camping at the time when I realized. I started to shake, felt like I wanted to be sick then needed to do a #2.. my teeth were shaking.. I was feeling hot and cold.. all while this was happening labor was going thru my mind.. then I was sick.. and it was over with!

I think its normal though.. most girls experience it!

I had a pretty good labour with DD1, it still hurt but nothing went wrong it all happened the way it was suppose to. Towards the end of my pregnancy with DD2 i started getting anxious about going through childbirth again. However when i went into labour i was pretty calm about it all, i think knowing what to expect helped me to prepare myself more.

Mum2jo, that's exactly how I feel. I've had easy labour and deliveries both times, but I remember dd2's being a lot more painful than dd1's. 'll just have to remember to tell myself that the actual labour/delivery is really just a short period in the whole scheme of things and that it's all worth it in the end. Good luck.

I guess I am lucky that I have had 2 good fairly fast labours DD1 4 1/2 hrs DD2 50mins so while I know it's going to hurt like hell I'm not actually worried about it. My attitude is all births are different and I'll have what ever I need to get myself and our baby through it safely.

I actually look at my girls births as a good experience even though the pain was sometimes unbearable, and I just wanted it to be over!!!!!!!!!!

I wasn't scared as I knew I'd done it before and could do it again and really I just need some one there to catch the baby the rest I can do on my own really.

Next time I'll be camping out near the hospital so I have some peace of mind I'll have someone with me to catch the baby.

I had a pretty good (well as good as giving birth can be) textbook fast birth with both my babies....but yes...I am absolutely terrified of going through it again....bring on the pregnancy etc...but the labour - arrgghhh...scares the hell out of me...it really is the only thing that i find myself fearing re: having another baby!
