stuck trying to convince him

Dh wants me not to BF...

I only want to BF...

With DS he went on to formula as I was in Intensive care.

DD was BF for 14 months.

Dh said he loved the bond he got with DS with being able to feed him and he felt he didnt get that with DD.

His Mum keeps telling him that I was selfish with DD and just didnt want to share her...:laughing::rolleyes:


How can I convince the man..he knows breast is best..he knows all the important stuff..

really he is just worried abotu not bonding as well as right now DD will only go to me for comfort she screams when I leave and always wants Mummy...he has somehow got it into his head that its because I BF and co slept with DD...

Helllllpppp anyone good at convincing>?

I don't think you need to convince him just do it, it is something you want to do with your child to give them a healthy start to their life.

Tell him if he wants to feed bub then to grow some breasts! :p

we have been for ages..
but its proving harder then it was with the others..
Quite a few issues..

But yeah we are talking alooot about it would love to be on the same page when it happens.

Bottle feeding doesn't have to mean FF'ing. Get yourself a decent pump and then the opportunity is there for DH to give bub a bottle of EBM.

Bub's still getting the golden stuff, Daddy gets to have the bond as well, and Mummy gets to have a break sometimes :D Sounds to me like a winning plan all round.

I never used pumps and never expressed with DD so that sounds like a plan.


O f course I will BF no matter what DH says but its alot nicer if DH is happy..we have the time to be in talks about it hence why I am talkign about it now.

Indie hasnt had anything but me, no expressing etc or anything but as we have had some quiet times with just us three in bed and him snuggling into her she is quiet close to him now, mind you he kinda freaked when she went to have a go at his and see what she could get out :laughing:

He is not anti BF at all.

We just like to have looong convos about it since its all we think about so this is one I want to bring up again LOL.

He will like the idea of lying together..

When I had DD I had severe depression and he was in another room and he is so scared of that happening so I am looking for stuff like this that we never did...

I think it's excellent that you guys are talking about it now. I couldn't imagine how stressful a talk like this would be once you were already pregnant :laughing:

Discussing it now also means that if you decide to get a breast pump you can do some research and decide which one is best for you :D

Maybe if he just fed bub with a bottle of EBM before bed time and snuggled with her.. That could be there bonding thing. Then the rest of the time feed bub off the breast.

I found the Medela range to be excellent :thumbsup:
