I am considering having my third baby atm by partner and I have talked about this for a long time. I am not super excited i would of been happy with two but being a relationship we have compromissed on three children. b(he wanted four or more)
Anyway what I want to know i how you found the change from 2-3?
We where looking at buying a house early next year which is when we would be getting pregnant idealy.
I know that the number of children you have effects your borrowing power.
Is it wrong or bad to apply for a home loan whilst pregnant so it isnt on the application that we have three..??
How did you cope with te financial change from having a family of four to a family of 5.?
Can you give me any tips or advice.?
What about your car?
I need to know as many pros and cons as I canget my hands on.

I didn't find much difference but I would expect as they grow up they will cost considerably more but if your willing to go without then thers no problem, I always said I'd wrok my butt off so my kids can have a good go in life I don't mind working for them.

We re-financed when I was preggers witht he second but i had been working full time so my wage was better for getting a loan, it is decieving but I would do an extra couple of days casual so we could afford it. I soon knocked down to part time.

We had just bought a car and knew it would fit all the car seats in our kids are 3 1/2 years apart but if it was 4 it might be different.

How olda re your other kids??If they are a bit more grown up I think it would be easier. I really think it depends on the amount of money you make and your earning power in the future. We don't have a huge income but do afford swimming lessons and pre-school one day a week and childcare at family daycare when I am at work part time. Food is a our biggest bill. We ow two homes but are about to sell one as interest rates are a killer.

I have three children and we planned the approval on our home loan, settlement date etc the best we could so that my income was included in the mortgage stuff. Partners income could easily service the loan but they always want you to have heaps spare. as it turned out settlement was on 5 july and baby 3 was born 9 august so we cut it fine but glad we did it now. going out with all three children without your partner is very difficult when you only have two hands how do you stop one of them from running off. Baby is 18 months old now and I have started my own business and trying to earn as much as i can to supplement the household income, interest rate rises have increased our repayments by nearly $150.00 f/n since we got the house. running two cars is not cheap on one income and the other things you tend not to think of water rates, land rates, excess water you get the picture.
Yep its hard but no regrets here just makes you plan better and spend wiser. HTH
