I know there are lots of negative blood mums out there, but just wondering if any of you have Rhesus Incompatability?
My DD1's blood passed over, so I can no longer get the anti-d shots as it's too late now. DS1 was born with jaundice (after lots of monitoring throughout the 2nd half of the pregnancy) which we knew he would be as that's one of the side effects.
It apparantly effects each pregannacy more, so this one has a chance of needing a blood transfusion while he's still inside. Has that happened to you or anyone you know?
Thanks in advance :)

Not me but my SIL
It made her very ill and her two sons had to be in special nursery for a while but they all came out fine with the right care
I do know though that she can't risk having any more babies though because of it.
I'm RH (-) but my son is negative as well so the were no probs there and got the shot this time, another one due shortly.

I am RH- and my ex husband was +. DS1 was under light therapy for 8-9 days but that could have been a side effect of being born prematurely. DS2 was 2.5 weeks early and had no problems at all.
My DP (+ blood type) and I have a 1yo daughter and she suffered extremely high billiirubin levels and was hospitalised at 5 days old even though she was only 10 days early. The paediatrician thinks it was nothing to do with blood type but more to do with DP being really jaundiced when he was born. Apparently it can be hereditary...they never did find the cause of it for our DD. I had the usual tests during her pregnancy and had to have the antibodies injections twice and again after she was born.
Having said all this I am pregnant with #4 and due to go through it all again. All my kids are fit and healthy so I'm not worrying about what might/might not happen with this one.
Try to stay positive.....I'm sure things will go well for you.
:hugs:

Yes, I am staying positive & not too worried about it. Just interested to see if anyone had neeeded their bub to have a blood transfusion while they're still inside, cause I've never known anyone to need that & just wondered how they went with it.
Thanks for your replies everyone:smiliedance:
