My DS has been doing swimming lesson at our local gym and I think its completely useless, he is not learning anything and not interested in the songs they do, so i going to try another place.
Can anyone recommend a good swimming school? Has anyone gone to Laurie Lawrence or Shapland?
When we were in Brisbane I took my girls to Jans Story Time at the Langlands Park pool at Stones Corner - loved it. Loved the teachers, their very different method of teaching swimming, and most of all, that from 18 months of age I didn't need to get in the pool too. I would highly recommend them.

Sam Riley Swim School at McDowell is excellent - started DD at 4 months, but had to move away at 9 months and was not happy cause we moved to a country town and the swimming lessons were terrible.
Whereabouts are you? Where is Shaplands?? I have a feeling I went there lol!

there are quite a few shapland swim schools around.
My eldest DD started off at shaplands when she was 3 years old. I wasn't too happy with them at all. They were quite expensive for a 20minute lesson.
My nephew goes to Laurie Lawrence, and I have heard good reports about it.
My DD's go to the local pool near us (western suburbs) and have been more than happy with them
We take ds to Aquatic Acheivers at Sunnybank Hills Shoppingtown. It's great and our ds loves it!

:yes:....when we used my bestfriends brother there for his lessons he loved it and still does:thumbsup:
When I was putting my dd in swimming, My haidresser said no to go to shaplands,
And I love where she goes now, and the other 2 kids in her class, have both been pulled out of shaplands.
But my little cousins on the south side, go to sam rileys and seem to love it.

That's where Sarah goes too  She's in Glenda's class. She seems like a good teacher, Sarah's made a lot of progress with her.
My DD1 has been at Aquatic Achievers for the last 2yrs (yes since she was 5 mths) and she's had Glenda Small as her teacher the whole way through
My DD1 has made amazing progress and is quite confident in her abilities in the pool (for a 2.5yo), she loves her lessons and has a great rapport and trust with her teacher. My DH has loved taking her in the pool too - parents are usually out of the pool once kids reach around 2.5yo.
We are due to start DD2 (nearly 6mths old) very soon and have no hesitation in continuing with this swim school!!:yelclap:

Hi, my ds is 19 months. We pay $143 for 10 lessons each term. We go for Saturday lessons and that is a little bit more fees than normal weekdays. They have a website, just google aquatic achievers and you should find more info there or just give them a ring. :) hope this help.
Hi! My son who is now just over 2.5yrs has been going to Aquatic Achievers since he was 4 months old and he is now a confident swimmer who can swim unaided for about 4-5 metres. He can climb out of the pool himself and find the side etc etc. He has lessons without mum& dad now.
My 10 month old has been going for about 4/5 months and he can already hold the side himself and sometimes get out himself....
I tried Shapland and thought they weren't structured enough and as mentioned in another post they are only a 20 min lesson. You get in and then it's time to get out!
I find that my boys really respond well to the repetition at Aquatic Achievers! Good luck!!:ecomcity:
Swimming lessons are great fun!

If you are on the southside I highly recommend Judy Watts Swim School at Loganholme. My dd has been going there since she was 10 weeks old. She's now 2.5 years old and has been going into the pool by herself since she was 2, with the instructors of course. :D
