i suffered from very bad headaches with DS and the r said you can even take panadeine forte but i didnt want to go that far!

Zyrtec is safe during pregnancy and breastfeeding, too.
Hope you feel better soon :hugs:
Thanks people.
Ive noticed since i found out i was pregnant that i seem to be coming up in itchy welts and also waking up every morning with a blocked or stuffy nose and sneezing my head off all day. I dont usually have allergies.

I have just squashed 2 discs in my back and my Ob has prescribed Panadine Forte,.... it is great to not be in pain - and I have a high pain threshhold!

I'm pretty sure you can only take paracetomol (panadol) :(
Yucky.
you can take panadol without too much trouble.. and I took panadol forte on advice from my doctor.

Only Panadol. The others are not safe. This is one of the many things I hated being pregnant, that you can't take anything for pain.

I have taken panadine ( paracetamol) for my headaches
can get panadine (8 -10mg)
and panadine15 (15mg)
have to go to a gp for panadine forte...
I have checked with 3 pharmacists.... 2 said it was a class A drug ( safe in pregnancy ) and the 3rd one refused to sell it to me as I had just fallen pregnant....
check with your pharmacist.... dont take my word for it though.... better to be safe than sorry....
headaches suck especially when they last for days....

Paracetamol is a class A but Panadine has codeine in it. Panadine is a class c. see here (http://www.safefetus.com/DrugDetail.asp?DrugId=300&TradeName=Panadeine&TradeId=2971)
I wanted to add that I had lots of headaches during pregnancy. Massage and warm, but not really hot baths also helped.

I took panadeine (paracetamol + codeine) during my pregnancy for about 3 months pretty much daily as I had an extremely bad toothache that would make my whole jaw ache but my dentist wouldn't do anything about it until i hit 21 weeks.....i was told by 3 chemists and my doc that panadeine was safe to take so i took it. Bubs was born perfectly healthy.

I had round ligament spasm while I was pregnant and the OB told me to take Panadol, Panadeine or Mersyndol, depending on how bad the pain was at the time.

I wouldn't take anything else other than panadol unless I checked with my obs first!!!
I was getting really bad headaches too and I brought myself a laytex pillow and had a massage which I now do every 6 weeks and it is amazing the difference it has made. I haven't had one since and they were really horrible tension headaches.
Might be worth a try anyway, there are qualified masseurs out there for pregnancy massage and I highly recommend it :flowerz:

I went to the GP today as I was awake most of last night with sinus pain - couldn't put my head on the pillow pain! Couldn't see my regular GP and the one I saw - who I din't like told me to take Nurofen and Panadol. I feeling so bad at the time I didn't question him but I thought Nurofen/Iboprufen was a no-no. I looked up one book I have at home which also said no. Some of the stuff on the net is a bit contradictory but I would rather be safe than sorry!
