My name is Anna, my Dh is Ryan and he is in the Defence Force. We have 2 boys, 18mths and 3mths. We've found out today that our next posting is Townsville. Bit of a shock as we were originally told Sydney. I am a bit disappointed as Im from Sydney and was looking forward to being near friends and family again, plus my defence friends I made down here are heading there next. BUT thems the brakes and Im starting to get a little excited about a change of scenery.

So HI to everyone and if you have any advice or info about Townsville Im all ears :)

Must say its going to be nice to have warm weather all year, I hate the cold :)

Hi Anna

You will love the land of sunshine :sunshine: Look forward to welcoming and meeting you when you get here. I have been in Townsville since October but used to live here a few years ago. Hubby was Army too but is discharged now. I have a 19month old DD and a 11 day old DS. We have regular meets with the ladies from Bub Hub and they are the best bunch of people, think we would all love for you to come along when you get here. Welcome. :goodvibes::goodvibes:

Thanks for the welcome ladies, I look forward to meeting you all soon! Im used to a very active social life so I am a bit worried that I'll get lonely up there but atleast I know I can attend your meetups. My son is also used to having other kids to play with outside of daycare so its great that there are alot of kids here that are of similar age groups. Ive heard nothing but good things about Townsville and I am really looking forward to no freezing cold below-zero winters anymore. - YAY!

Now if the army could just give us our posting orders so I can get on with the move I will be happy as larry :)

Hi Anna,

My name is Sonja, I'm 26 with a 2 year old son and my hubby is in the RAAF.

I love love love Townsville!!! You've got everything you need here, but without the traffic jams. :p

It's also a very family friendly place - lots of stuff (free stuff as well) to do with the kiddies.

Summer gets a bit hot, but all defence houses have air conditioning so that's really not too much of a worry. Winter is absolutely beautiful.

Do you have Facebook or MySpace? PM me if you do and I'll add you. :)
