When are you going to start putting things together e.g Cradles, cots ? Or bubs room?

I'm not sure yet. Definately after the all clear from the 20 wk scan, but I'm not sure how much later.
I was hoping to buy all of the furniture in the mid year sales, but I have just heard that there is a 3 month wait on most furniture, so maybe not.
I am just worried that doing it too early will jinx the baby. I already go into the room and just look at it though - mentally choosing colours and putting everything in it's place. I'm so silly!

:iagree: KatieLou I still haven't bought anything in case I jinx it... DH asks every weekend if I want to go to the baby shop and have a look around and I say no... wait until 12 weeks...or wait until the first trimester...then wait until the next dr's visit... then it will be wait for the 19 week scan LOL! I am HOPELESS!!!
After 20 weeks I think.
We're getting a co-sleeper for our room and passing along all of Ava's baby furniture to the new baby so it will just be some new accessories and the major expense will actually be Ava's new bed, bnedside table etc. Which I don't want to leave for too late in case there's a long lead time.
I purchased my first items after the 12 week scan, I figured it will take us a long time to buy everything & we don't want to wait until the last 3 months to buy.
We decided that even though ppl think it's risky, we will use it for another baby if that had to be

I totally bucked tradition, and have been buying things on ebay 3 months before we even fell pregnant.
I am buying everything second hand for bubs (where appropriate) and didn't want to miss out on the bargains.
I am 14 weeks 1 day now, and have almost everything that i need.
Unfortunately though I won't be setting up the bedroom until probably mid July (which will be 7 months for me) as my stepdaughters are in our baby room at the moment, and will be moving downstairs when the time comes. Downstairs has no internal access to upstairs, so we are wanting to wait as long as we possibly can.
But I have everything for it, lol (although I am still in the middle of sanding and painting the cot and tallboy)
Its so exciting though isn't it?

I was going to wait till like 2 months before the baby was born because i thought i was being silly being so anxious and i didnt want to end up sitting a set up room for months day dreaming which i would, but then when we told the inlaws at 14 weeks, they got excited and took us shopping, so now i have heap of stuff in boxes sitting in an empty room which i'll paint up for the baby soon, I should just go nuts and do what makes me happy and get all the things i need, this kind of thing doesnt happen very often! :smiliedance:
yeah dont wait becasue you will forget stuff...lol only kidding. We are not 'wealthy' so buying stuff when we have got the money is what works for us, with DS we decided to wait and missed out on lots of stuff becasue we couldnt afford it, thats why i am just about to go pick up the pram:)
have fun shopping/setting-up/ etc because we dont get to do this often:)

I dont have to do any shopping I've still got everything from DD exceot I saw this fang dangle thing the other day its a swing/rocker and chair all in one so will still be of use at toddler stage. I will set everything up once me and DP get a new place and it will be DD getting most of the new stuff I think she will need a bed cause bub will need the cot. And a new pram and I'm all set I cant wait to set everything up though because DD has shared a room with me at my mums for her first 12 months so it wasnt very exciting IYKWIM.I'd love to set up a room just for bub
