Hey, how is everyone

We have been having settling probs with our bubs (he has reflux) we went to the Health Centre and did a day stay, which helped a bit, but things have not improved so the next step is a week stay at Riverton, I was just wondering if anyone else has ever been to one of these and if they were much help.

Thanks. :o

Hey

I am having the same problem with my little one. She is not sleeping and throwing up after her feeds as a first time mum it is very frustrating knowing that I can't help her at all.

I have been told to give her some infant gaviscon - doesn't seem to be helping at all at the moment!! I was up from the 7 till four the next morning with her just crying and being fussy and not settling at all.

If anyone has any advice please pass on!!!!!

We are also on infant gaviscon, i don't think its helping!? We give it to him in a bottle and he always spits it back in my face, how do you give it to your buba

I have one settling technique that works almost every time (he is starting to get a bit cluey) - we swaddle baby up nice and tightly, go into the bathroom and turn the shower on, the soothing sounds of the shower stop him crying instantly, and he eventually dozes off!! I could not live without the shower!!!

Hopefully that might give you some peace!!

Hi there mums
Both my kids had reflux and were on/ still is on Zantac. Talk to your GP about I found it realy settled them both down. Once I got my daughter on Zantac her sleeping improved out of site, pitty the same can't be said about my son. Have you tried putting a pillow or blankets under the mattress so your bubs head is raised slightly. this can help them a bit. Hope you get them sleeping well soon

My friend's baby was a bad reflux & allergy baby and she didn't have more than 2 hours sleep at once for 6 months. She went to Riverton and said it was fantastic. Don't hesitate, it sounds like it is really worth doing and the sooner the better as her baby was a little slow developing (crawling etc) as he was in so much pain with his reflux for so long.
He is 18 months and fine now, by the way.
PS. Do you have a baby sling? My friend also swore by this for carrying her baby around & keeping him upright while he fell asleep.
