Snappies or safety pins?

What do you use to fasten bub's nappy?
I use snappies,but bub's nappies are coming off after I switched to bigger nappy covers.Are safety pins safe?

Well the covers got small,so I had to get bigger ones :)

I only use safety pins.. snappies turn me off :D

They are perfectly safe as long as you use proper nappy pins and have the sharp end of the pin heading towards the outside of the baby, not towards the middle. Takes a bit of practice as you're working backwards but once you've got the knack easy peasy. Maybe if you know someone who used to use terry flats get them to show you, they'll also be able to show how to put the pin through the nappy without pricking bubs, I cant explain it on here.

I use snappis (The Boy calls them "nipper nappers" :laughing:)


With nappy pins though, if it's tough getting them through the nappy you run them through your hair and after that, they slide through the nappy.

Were your snappis well stretched when you got them? If not it's hard to pull them tight enough for them to stay on without the cover to hold them in place.

Snappi's are better for the nappies then pins.

I used snappis with DD, and will again when DS arrives. I am a big fan!

Neither .... Im lazy so when i use my flat i just use them as a rectangle pad sitting inside the cover :o

Snappi's! Love'em :) I use a couple of terry flats every day, without a cover, and just pat her every now and then to see if she's done a wee. The snappi has to be pulled firm- I don't see how it could come off unless it isn't stretched tight when on. Unless you're running out of little loops in the terry for it to grab onto, which is happening here! :)

I use both but much prefer pins.

DS is 10 months and can "undo" the snappi when he doesn't have a cover on. He doesn't even notice or play with the pins even though the snappi is white and the pins have those coloured bits on the end! Go figure!

Anyway, we're a bit old school but love the pins!
