Hi everyone

I'm booked in for surgery in May on my foot which will be a skin graft too boot, but i'm concerned about haivng the op while i'm pregnant and the affect (if any) it will have on the baby...

I am due 9th of Sep, and would like to put it off just till then, but is it worse to not get the problem fixed and have anti biotics to stop an infection? My doctors are to blazae about everything to be helpfull!

thanks guys

ur doc should tell u if its safe or not u cant have anti inflammatories like nurofen in preg or codeine I think. push them 2 tell u, its their responsibility 2 inform u of all risks.

I ha a cyst removed when I was 21 weeks pg without any problems, they used a spinal tap (basically an epidural) as anaestetic instead of the normal because that is safer for the baby, it means the baby isn't anaethetised, it's weird I couldn't feel anything but could still watch my baby move around. I didn't need any pain killers on anti-biotics though. Would consult with a paed who knows about foetuses and the risks.
