Hi

Greenkids nappies have been our workhorse nappies since I converted to cloth about 10 months ago. They were going great but lately I find that they have been leaking. DD is going to be toilet training soon but I think it's going to take longer then I hoped. she's refusing to even sit on the potty now ever since she did a poo on it and got scared.

So anyway even with the gk bamboo insert and a microfibre on top the nappies are leaking. The wee is coming out of the sides of her nappies near her inner thigh. Sometimes trickles sometimes big gushes like on the couch today. I make sure the white suedecloth is not sticking out from under the PUL but there are still leaks sometimes. I've done many strip washes too.

Is there anything else I can do other than forking out more money on other nappies? Do I just put up with it for at least another 6 months?

It's so frustrating because I have about 22 GK's :hair:

TIA

Is it all of the nappies??
Or just certain ones that you use more often??
Can you see any wear and tear in the Pul??

If its gushing out it sounds like either the nappies arent fitting her right or the inserts are moving now that she is more mobile.

I found with Boof he was a shocker with playing with his nappies moving the inserts so they leaked etc drove me nuts !

You may also find it could be a case of needing to change her more frequently cause as they get older they are weeing more but also will hold for certain periods also so when they do wee its super dooper heavy duty.

What about investing in some cloth training pants & see how she goes with them now she is TT.

Is the leg elastic still ok?? You could try putting a microfibre cloth in on top of the insert to help draw the wee away quickly, now that she is doing bigger wees, the hemp/bamboo might not be drawing it away quickly enough. Good Luck!

Thanks for your replies ladies :)

Goose - the PUL is great, there's nothing wrong with them. It's not a particular nappy i don't think, i haven't noticed.

Allyoo - I think you may be right about her moving around alot more and doing very big wees after holding it for a while. I think I'll keep just ride it and get some cloth training pants. Have been looking into these actually so may ask here in the future.

Jembelina - The leg elastic is fine and i've already got a microfibre on top of the insert

Have you thought about doing a strip wash on the inserts? It could just be that they need a strip to get the absorbancy back up to par.

Yeah I usually do one once a month. Thanks anyway:).

If I had lots of dough I'd buy more Bubblebubs, I loooove them. I have 3 but I only discovered them about 2 months ago.
