Mine's itchy at the moment. With my tiredness pregnant brain I called out to husband...
"Belly! My itchy is baby" instead of "Baby! My belly is itchy."
:/

It's the stretching!

Oooooh yeah! I can still remember that itchy feeling too! And then the stretch marks would make pinging noises. Yeaaar!

As far as I am concerned, it is normal! ;)

oh Krissy, i feel for you!! With my ds i had the itchy belly thing for the last 2 months of my pregnancy. It was so bad i used to use my tweezers to scratch! I even broke the skin a couple of times. I tried every lotion and cream known to man-kind (and my Dr) for itchiness. The only thing that made a little difference was washing in Pine Tar Solution and then smothering myself in Aloe Vera gel(which made my tummy soooo soft, i'm totally doing that this time whether or not its itchy!).
I had the itchiness on my belly mainly, but also on my thighs, arms and sometimes up my shoulders. It was horrible! I was pregnant in summer and hoping it wont be as bad this time in October. I think some of it was the stretching but my arms and my shoulders didn't stretch, so weird!
Good luck!

I got itchy alllll over! There is a reason for it, but I don't remember why... it's not only because of the skin stretching...

Oh yeah, I remember my belly was SOOOO itchy! I used to rub cream in it as soon as it was itchy but sometimes I just had to scratch scratch scratch! Ahhhh the relief! Hang in there, it will pass eventually! :hugs:

The midwife told me not to scratch because that's how you get the stretchmarks. Dunno if thats true or an old wives tale.

My belly got REALLY itchy and I ended up with stretch marks, but my sister started applying moisturiser (cocoa butter and vitamin E cream) to her belly as soon as she found out she was pregant and she didn't get any itch or one single stretch mark! So totally UNFAIR :) but she jokes that she must've spent a couple of hundred dollars on the creams because she used so much  I don't know if the whole moisturiser thing is true or just a myth but everyone I know that used LOTS of cream from the day they found out they were pregnant didn't get an itch or a stretchmark.

Coincidence?? Not sure myself !

Yes I did have an itchy belly both times. Moisturising worked for me. Clarins have a skin tonic that is like a light oil and was wonderful when I was itchy (hueir tonic or something like that). Nary a strech mark either  One jar lasts throughout the pg.
