I can't belive my boy is turning 4 next month :crying:
Anyway, enough of the tears (big sniff, wipes snot away with sleeve) I'm in two minds about what to do: (DS just wants a party)
Have an `at home party'or
Have a party in the parkHome party -
four to five ch'n
parents won't need to stay
I am confident with running games
lots of mess
who do you invite when numbers are restricted ???Party in the park -
more children can attend
very little mess
would need to invite children and their families, due to supervision - therefore more food required
What do you think ????
All feedback appreciated

Well we just had an at home 4th birthday. I didn't feel like taking all the food, balloons, entertainment, chairs etc to a park and there is more than enough to play with here.
Pity it rained as the idea was for them all to be outside. I had about 12 kids since some came with brothers / sisters and DD1 had been invited to their parties over the preceding year.
I don't think they need a lot of organised games at four since they are still happy just to run around and play. We had pass the parcel and egg and spoon races with prizes for everyone. I was going to have a lolly hunt but it rained.

My DS turned 4yo last month and we had an at home party with about 8 of his friends from preschool. The party went for 2hrs as that is long enough for a bunch of sugar hyped 4yo. It was up to the parents if they stayed or not (2 did the rest made the most of not having there 4yo whining in there ears...lol)
We did a game of pass the parcel and statues and the rest of the time they were running around.
We were going to have his party at an indoor play centre but it was going to cost triple to what we ended up paying at home.
Goodluck with it and make sure you have plenty of panadol on hand for yourself afterwards:laughing:
my daughter turned 4 last nov. dd#2 turned 2 3days before so they had a joint party at home. it was such a great day. no games as such but we had 2 ponies, bouncy castle & face painting(there was meant to be a balloon twister but they forgot the balloons! grr idiots!)
and heaps of junk food :D lasted 2.5hours. 40 kids all up.
we recently had dd#1's party at a park, 40 kids again - more basic as she's too young to enjoy the bigger parties, we had a sausage sizzle and heaps of yummy food. great day.
im sure your son will love it either way!

For my daughter's first 3 birthday parties we had them at home - very successful. We've also had parties at the park and I found that quite stressful having to take everything there, set it up, pack it all up etc.
For my DD's 4th birthday in January we had it at McDonald's. It was awesome :yelclap:! $7 per child and they got a happy meal, presents, DD got a lovely gift, an ice-cream cake, and they got to play on all the equipment. It went for 1.5hrs and all the kids had a ball, all the mum's are still raving about it and 3 of the 8 kids who attended are also having Macca's parties in the coming months.
Just a suggestion! I'm sure he'll have a lovely day no matter what you do.
