So are you seriously telling me there is no-one on here located on the Northern Rivers?
It would be great to meet some new friends around my area, but I guess I'll just have to put the word out and get some local people to joint he site....

There is a young mum group run on fridays at 1pm in byron bay. Have you heard anything about it? Might be a way to meet some other young mums.

I can't remember where it was held. They have a flyer up on a sign. That's where i saw it.

It was on a notice board on Lawson Street. Where the Lawson Arcade is. There is an organice doughnut shop and a restaurant called "the cardomen pod". There is a driveway beside it and the notice board is on the wall there.

I hope that's not too confusing and some help.
If i was in the area again anytime soon i would have a look for you but i don't when i will be that way next.

ok awesome. Hope it's what you are after!

It would be nice to have a young mum group to go to.

How do you find living around Byron Bay as a young mum? Is it a bit isolating?

I've been looking at/considering moving to the northern rivers area. I'm a bit concerned about ending up all alone with nothing to do in an area i don't know too well. In the time i have spent there i've noticed the people seem more lay backed. Not so judgemental of younger mothers like they are in the bigger cities. Or maybe i was just lucky to not cross paths with those sort of people!?..lol

I like living here. live with mum though and want to get my own place so I will probably end up in ocean shores. And no, the people around here aren't very judgemental of young mums.

:iagree: we are from Ballina and have just moved to Perth.
Over here I feel incredibly judged for being a young mum, not to mention the fact that we've been married for 5 years so everyone thinks we are crazy!

I didn't spend that much time in Byron but I know in Ballina/Lennox there are heaps and heaps and heaps of young mums.

In fact pretty much all my friends were married with Children we were the only ones in our friendship group who only had one child! LOL

The Byron/Ballina Shires are an excellent place to raise children and perfect for young mums there is tons of things to do with your children.

I never felt isolated and its such an amazing place to live.

If your thinking of moving I highly recommend it :D

Byron is very easy going when it comes to younger parents

I grew up in the Byron/Ocean Shores area - I live on the Gold Coast now, but regulary head down that way. I have seen nothing but support and positive attitudes for young mums.
