Christening Presents

Its my DS Christening in a month and the reception of the christening is joint with our engagement party. Lately EVERYONE has been ringing up asking what to buy DS and to be honest there is nothing we need. I don't want to be rude and I know if u say "don't buy presents" people will anyway.

Does anyone have any ideas for some things that are nice as christening presents that aren't toys or clothes. We have 200 people coming soI'll need plenty of ideas!

You could just tell them to bring an item to put in a time capsual and give it to him when he is older? Just an idea...i have heard of it being done for naming days etc. Its hard because you end up with some many keep sakes that just get thrown away in a cupboard. Sorry im not of much help!

I don't have any ideas of things to ask for, but I remember you saying that your partner's family is Greek.
I would imagine that alot of the Greek side of the family will give you cash...it happened with us from the European side.
