Novate Lease or Buy Outright

I'm in the process of relocating back to Oz and am wondering if anyone has any advice on novation vs purchasing. I'm looking to get a Toyota Corolla or the like and want to know if there's any advantage in leasing. My income will be ok'ish and I'll be paying a whack of tax. Thanks for any advice.
