Hey everyone...Yay we just brought a house on the coast (Dicky Beach?)...so excited..anyone...I know its heaps early seeings lil Claudia isnt even born yet...but i'm wondering which schools have the best rep?
Claudia will probably be going to a public school for primary (i'm thinking currimundi public school?) but for high school we want to send her to a private school....Pelican Waters looks really good..any reports on it??....we would love her to go to a all girls school...but I cant find any there?? (is there any?...lol if shes like me at school...the boys will be to much of a distraction!!!:) )
The only thing we really dont want is an overly religious school..Y cant they have prestigious private schools that arnt religious!! soo annoying!
hope u can help!!

I don't know much about the Schools around here but can try and help.
Caloundra Primary and Currimundi Primary - Don't know anything. My ex-boss' boys went to Currimundi Primary and I think it was good - but that was 15 odd years ago (they are 22 and 25 now) :D .
I think I've heard Talara Primary is good. I can't think where I've heard that but I'm sure I did. It's over the back of the Currimundi Shopping Centre.
When it comes to Private Schools in Caloundra. There's the Catholic one near Queen/King Street - so that's quite religous. There's the one near the Police Station/Court House - heard if'y remarks about that one - again religous.
Caloundra City School (Pelican Waters) - Heard nothing but fantastic remarks about it. If you have the money I'd be sending Claudia to that Primary School. I don't know how much it costs but I've got a friend who has sent her DS there this year (grade 2) and she is kicking herself big time she didn't send him last year. She raves over it. My DH has been out there with work a few times and has had a good look around, met the Principal and Teachers and rates it very highly. If we're still in the area when DD goes to School she will definitely be going there.

Oh thx for that storm thats heaps of info!
Yeah when I looked at the website for the two catholic schools, some of the comments were to religious and imo I dont want to be spending all that money for lil Claudia to be brainwashed into their ways (no offence too any religion ect, its just not an important aspect of my husband and my life..nor will it be forced on Claudia unless she wants to explore religions whens shes older and can make her own decisions)
I think the Pelican waters one is to way to go....so were going to try and send her there for her entire schooling :fingerscrossed:
thx again

I was just having another look at my post, and thought it doesn't sound too helpful. I sound like a walking advertisement for Pelican Waters school. Anyway, I believe it's a multi-nominational School and they probably have religous lessons but at least you're not having the Catholic beliefs shoved down your throat. (As you can tell, I'm not Catholic). I apologise :o to Catholics for my remarks but I have met so many "Catholic Cruisaders".
Anyway, my girlfriend was saying her Son has swimming like 3 times a week. He does extra curricular activities through school - tennis and golf. Apparently when school is finished the school takes him directly to golf / tennis and she only has to go and pick him up. She said it is a big help because she's not running all over the place.
