Have you been ttc for longer than 12 months? Come chat with us
Hello lovely ladies,
Some of you might know me already from other threads but name is Grace and I am an obsessed long time trying to conceiver.
I would really love to ttc #3 successfully to full term (and maybe #4 oops don't tell DH). After two recent M/C Aug 07 & most recent Feb 08, I am more determined then ever.
Come and vent here as well, because we need to let our frustrations out.
And I will be the first to put up my hand and say YES it does pee-pee me off when ladies say "Oh I've been off the pill for a month but I haven't fallen pregnant yet". :hair: OR they try first time and WHAM BAM thank you mam. :hair:
AND god knows how many folic acid tablets. :dizzy:
Please come join me, I really don't want to be a nody no friend.
love
Gracie
Hi Grace
You would be very welcome to join the
March + April Testing Calender - Long Time TTC'ers and Assisted Conception
Thread which is where all the ladies TTCing over 12 months are congregating. Great place to bond, vent, pull yoru hair out, and every now and then, celebrate a BFP.
Gracie honey I will join you!!!! :hugs:you rock!!! :flowerz:
Well you already know my story but I'm gonna re tell it just in case...We have been TTC #1 forever (ok, ok not forever...it just feels that way!!). We've been trying since Nov 06. At first I wasn't Oing properly but my wonderful acupuncturist has fixed that so I should be preg...but obviously I'm not. So now we're waiting for this cycle to finish and then we're trying our first IVF cycle. OMG. Nerve racking, sad and exciting all at the same time.
Grace I've missed you!!! Hope we see some more of our awesome ttc friends in here soon!!

Come on down............
:D:D:D
I really have missed you girls.
I have really missed you Grace and your early morning hellos!!! How are your two scallywags going?
My two scallywags are good. DS scallywag has been really, really, really pushing the limits the last few weeks. He had the last week off preschool with the chicken pox and we are now just slowly getting back into the flow again.
DD scallywag is great. (her time will come to push my boundaries). I never experienced the terrible 2's with DS but I'm sure the terrible 4's are just round the corner.
So from finding out about bubs heart beat, to m/c'ing, then the D&C, two days later chicken pox and DH constantly at uni, I feel like I'm going mental..... at times.
This time next week, I will have DH all to myself. No UNI for two weeks :smiliedance: We really need some time for us. I have already organised the kids to be baby sat next Thursday so we can go out for dinner. :valentine: AND he feels terrible that he hasn't been here for me fully, but I understand. We have both made a commitment to uni and no matter what comes our way, we have to deal with it and then put it to the side, if this makes sense.
That makes total sense Grace. From the sounds of it DH going to uni is part of a bigger plan you guys have. It must break his heart not to be with you whilst you've been going through all this. You really must feel like you're going mental! Did you get chicken pox too or was it just the kids? Have they found out anything from the D&C to give you any more information? (Tell me to butt out if necessary) Do you need to wait a certain amount of time before ttc again - do you feel like you need to wait before you ttc again (again - tell me to butt out ....).

hoping i can join you lovely girls!
ive been ttc number 2 for about 15 months now.
ds1 took 18 months, and he is now nearly 2.5yrs!
id desperately love a little playmate for him, i think he would make a fantastic big brother!
anyhoo thats my story in short, lol, otherwise id be here all night
oh thought id also add, im still breastfeeding (2 feeds a day) and am definately ovulating, and had all my 21 day bts and papsmear all good..waiting on dp to have a date with a jar
cross fingers it all comes back good!
DH is a very black and white person. He puts things into prospective for me, when needed ;).
He did feel bad that he couldn't be there for me, but in all honesty he couldn't do much for me anyway, but his cuddles were the best medicine of all.
And you know we all have hurdles in our lives, but we have to pick ourselves up and keep going. Life isn't easy and if we didn't move forward each time we stumble, we wouldn't get anywhere.
Having a miscarriage was heart breaking after ttc for so long and then again , but I have to put things into prospective. Its not the end of the world. I still have good health and DH and I have a very strong love and bond with each other.
Enough of my positive thoughts.
Only DS had the chicken pox. It was only a very mild case as he was immunised against them. Thank goodness.
They do offer testing after 3 consecutive m/c's in a row. If ttc again they ask you to wait one full menstrual cycle but my acupuncturist recommends 3 months, but 3 months feels like a life time.
Yeah DH is home, back soon to chat

Yeah - I am here - though as the other girls have said ......please come over to the Long Time TTC thread - it isnt just IVF it is for exactly what you are talking about Grace.
and yes - I am not trying to be mean or horrible to anyone .....but after such a long time, people who have been ttc for a week or two and complaining about it do upset me a bit.
anyway - all of you girls please come on over - we are a very close little bunch who have been through a lot together and are ultra supportive.

Susiebabes course you're allowed to ask - the only treatment I've had is acupuncture. It has regulated my cycles and stared me oing regularly but still no baby. LOL at you sending DH to bed
I think Ains has something on at home tonight (see...I stalk her too :o) so she may not be on tonight...

Welcome matalee! Are you currently doing IVF?
Well this morning FF says I am 3dpo! But I really don't know whether this is right or not, I have had such a confusing cycle. Got my FS appointment on tuesday so I'm not too worried about this cycle anyway cause I'm gonna get a BFP next cycle :smiliedance:

Haylie ok then hun i am at work so you had better fill me in on it then! lol
Bubfree Ok so maybe i should try more acupuncture! I have had a few sessions and loved it but i find it really hard to go see her all the time.
Hi Matalee  and welcome. Looking forward to getting to know you.
Haylie yay for ff saying you're 3dpo :smiliedance:You're right though ff can change its mind!! I hate that! It is great for you to have a fs appt to focus on though.
Grace how I love your early good mornings :flowerz:
Susiebabes maybe you're cheerful this cycle cos it's a baby making cycle :babydust2::goodvibes: As for the acupuncture I know its not for everyone. I was lucky that my FS offered it as an option before trying Clomid. It took a fair bit of time (I see her at least weekly) and was pricey but it worked for me in the end. Well it worked to get my cycles normal and I feel so much better mentally about the whole thing. My acupuncturist is going to cintinue treating me through my IVF too as this has been found to increase pregnancies from IVF. I'd do anything to increase my chances obviously!
Haylie I came on here this morning and then read your post and dashed into the lounge to watch sunrise - thanks for the heads up. Was quite good but don't think the technology will be around for a while yet (well in Adelaide anyway).
Katiesmum how are you going? Is it this Friday you're going back to the doctors?
As for me...I think I'm 2 dpo...but like Haylie said - who knows with ff!! I'll keep bding just incase. This is my last natural cycle and I would so love it to work!!

If it's ok I might hang around in here a bit too? It took us 20 months to TTC DD#1 (who will be 3 next week) and 3 cycles of clomid. And I just found out 2 days ago that after 26 months TTC #2 I got my BFP through ICSI - IVF. But as happy as I am (and thinking positive thoughts) I am conscious that it is still very early days yet. So I still feel like I belong in the TTC threads rather than 'baby due date' threads.
I hope that's ok

Oh bugger - I was too busy reading bubhub forums that I didn't know about this and now it's too late :crying: Does anyone know if I can find it on the Sunrise website or channel 7's or YouTube etc? Did anyne watch it? Is it worth me spending time trying to find a copy of it?
Hi mummynow  I can kind of understand why you'd want to stay in the ttc threads a little longer (kind of - only because I havent been utd but I can imagine if I was I'd feel a bit unsure in the early days and would hang out int he ttc threads myself). Welcome Ains!!!! Yay! I wonder where kitty katz is???
Susie- you didn't really miss much, they were just talking about a new machine that they are trialling that can sort the sperm out and separate the good quality ones from the lower quality ones, thus increasing the chances of a successful cycle.
Bubfee- fingers crossed for a natural BFP before your IVF :fingerscrossed:
What is everyone up to today? DH had a big sleep in and Mason was really full on for me this morning so DH is taking us out to lunch :goodvibes: Also gotta go to the council to do an early vote before saturday since we won't be here, and get some more baby wipes as Mason has hidden the last packet somewhere in the house and I can't for the life of me find them. Then I'm going to the scrapbook shop to get some pretty paper to make a B'day card for our god-daughter who is turning the big 1 ! Hehe I'm sure you's didn't want to know all that :D

I don't really think it's worth watching as it's not really something that's going to be available for awhile from what I gather.
Of course you are welcome to hang around in here!
Mummynow I dont think it was worth watching - as Haylie said. It was about a new technique they're using at Westmead that prob wont be here in SA for ages.....
Ains Westmead look great!! And they're cutting edge with their new spermy sorting machine :D And i looked on their website - they are thousands of dollars cheaper than here in SA. Not that it will matter with you because you'll get your :bfp: and have twins first go :goodvibes::babydust2:

Just wondering if I can join this great thread???? Puhleeeeeeeeeese.
Anyway we've been ttc #4 for 27 months. Had a mc in dec 06 and recently found out dh is having sperm troubles (ie there is none!!). He did another sa test yesterday so we'll know if things are changing for the better in the next few days. Doctor thinks it was the medication he was on that caused him to go sterile. He has an appointment with a urologist on the 19th and hopefully he'll have some good news for us too.
Julie goodluck on friday :hugs: I'm sure things are looking good for you!!!!
Ains you never cease to amaze me with all your positivity!!! Don't worry about the needle thing - you'll be a pro by the end of the week!!! And yes you are going to be pregnant this cycle!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Susiebabes yep I've been seeing a FS about my PCOS but she was ok with me trying acupuncture for a little while before making me go on Clomid. Since I've been Oing on my own now for 6 months I'm seeing my FS for IVF. She's a really great FS. IVF starts end of this month
When are you due to test this month?
Hi everyone, thanks for the welcome into your thread:)
Mummy to Mason - no, we're not going through IVF at the moment, we decided to take a break from seeing dr's etc. And while we were on the break that's when I got my BFP, so I think for the moment we'll just keep plodding along - although I am seeing a fantastic naturopath who has helped me so much.
:yelclap::yelclap::yelclap:CONGRATUALATIONS mummynow on your BFP, that's so exciting for you!!!!
Ains, don't be too scared about the needles, I am a self declared sook & I handled them with no problems, in fact I was quite the expert in just a couple of days. Sometimes we imagine things will be so much worse than they really are.

Mellymumma - Have a read this correctly, you have 3 girls?
Yep . I'd say they're wonderful except the 2 youngest are being really naughty right at this second. Ahh who am I kidding they're great!!! They are great friends but have been fighting alot lately (all 3). I would love a boy but after ttc for so long I'd be happy with either (well I would anyway but ykwim). Dh seems to think his boy ball is broken (ironically both are at the moment ) but we'll get there in the end, I'm sure!!! I'll shove pills down his throat until they pop out his nose if I have to - I am determined that this is going to happen!!! (pregnancy not pills popping out his nose).

BM----> there are a few options....depends how dodgy they are! Look at my dh's tests.... 1st one was terrible, ok melly you take the cake there.....so not that bad but they were telling us we should go to ICSI. With the 2nd test his swimmers were on the normal side!!! So normal fs told me i could do IUI first if we wanted!!! :D So go back for a 1st, 2nd and 3rd opinion!!! Also i found with the 1st test dh spat into the cup after abstaining for 2 days and the 2nd test he abstained for 3 days! soooooo when we go to fertilise the eggs dh is going to obstain for 3 days!!!

Hi Mel how are you??? Where you been hiding?? I miss our msn chats!!! Tell dh to get his butt into gear and love that jar!!! Mine swore he'd never do it but yesterday was the 3rd time!!! I'm looking into natural things to pump him full of to make those swimmers happen!!! And he's seeing a specialist next week so if your mans boys are a bit on the sick side then I'll be more than happy to share any info I find/get with you.
Awww poor ains :hugs:.

OH just remembered Mel at woolies theres a mens conception pill you can get by Forelife its in a box and theres one for women as well. The womans one is called forelife natal care. They usually keep them side by side so shouldn't be too hard to find. Its got all kinds of stuff like zinc etc to keep the sperm in top shape!!!
some zinc anyways heard that is good too.
Yep DH & I both used the zinc. I will have to get some more. Sometimes I think the stress of our DH's having to produce a sample makes the little worms hide :p
I loved acupuncture as well. Gets expensive though, I guess everything does iykwim.
For those who are asking - my DH's first test was a little on the low side (on the lower side of normal). Between his first sperm test and his second he stopped drinking, gave up extreme exercise (didnt give up exercise fully just the 10 km runs in his lunch break  the only place I run is to the cupboard for chocolate ) and changed his diet slightly. His second sperm test was off the charts amazing....I dont know what changed it but something worked!

Hi chatterboxes!!!
Brasha- thank you for your lovely words :hugs:
mummynow- November 7th is a wonderful day to have a bub. My pregnancy with Mason was confirmed on the 7th November 2005 so I always remember that date!
Welcome Mellymumma!!! It's been ages, I hope you are doing well.
Ains- what a nutcase!! I hope she leaves you alone soon.
I live in Kingaroy QLD. It's about 3 hours from Brissie.
Speaking of sperm tests, I have heard that often the first one can be dodgy because of the pressure of doing it. They are more relaxed for the next. My DH's was pretty good- it was 32 million per mil, a total of 160 million, but 86% were abnormal. The GP said that anything up to 85% abnormal is fine so we don't really have anything to worry about, do you girls rekon that's an ok amount?
LOL bubfee you had me laughing at the running to the cupboard for chocolate thing  That's so much like me!
Grace- I hope you get some action soon.
Susiebabes- is your wrist feeling better this afternoon?
It annoys me also to hear others complaining after TTC for like 2 weeks but I guess we were all newies to TTC back in the day and it is hard when you are so enthused and think that it will happen the first cycle. I've been complaining about not being preg since before we were even TTC
DH is doing night shift tonight so we had to get a BD in while Mason was napping. It didn't go too well cause the phone rang half way through and then we couldn't stop laughing so it took forever. We eventually got the job done though so that's the main thing ;)
Lunch was yummy!
Man, this thread moves quickly!!! You girls are fast!!!
Ains: You're BIL ex-gf sounds completely nuts!!! Hope the blocking of her stops the hassles.
Thanks, Mellymumma for crossing everything, I do feel alot more confident knowing that we did do it once & can quite possible do it again, maybe though the next one could be a little more stickier & stay for the long haul though.
Hope you find something to boost your DH's swimmers Baylismum, there's heaps of options out there
Bubfee, i had to laugh at your post about your husband cutting down on 'extreme exercise', that's so much like my DH, he's a fitness freak, he'll go jogging when it's over 40 degrees because it's 'more of a challenge' if it's hot.............& I yell from the couch on his way out 'bring back chocolate'..........:D
Grace, :smiliedance::smiliedance: for you for your 'date'!!! (We were told to wait for my next cycle then start TTC again but we have been naughty & just ignored that advise. I'm not getting my hopes up with this cycle but just didn't want to miss it, if that makes sense).
Oh, & I'm in Melbourne.........& it's 38 degree's today............i'm hot.........& I'm also a bit of a whinger.

OMG - a girl goes to work and it takes an hour to read the thread!!!!
mellymumma - Hi hun. Havent been on msn for a bit as my normal computer has been :geek: ....should be back on tinight I hope.
Baylismum - there is now a conception pill for men called menevit that was trialled by an IVF clinic in Adelaide (repromed) which apparantly they got some really really good results with. You can order it in from your pharmacy (no prescription needed)
Haylie - I agree with everything you said about newbie TTC'ers. I guess we have all been there already and moved on a bit......though not to a due in thread, so onviously not moving int he right direction.
Grace - there is a thread called 'do you want a photoshop makeover' (too lazy to find a link - sorry) - the girls in there are AMAZING and do a professional job. One fairy photo that essjay did for me I have framed and is 1000 x better than anything I have had done professionally.

Been ttc#2 for 16 months now...ds was a beautiful surprise as we werent ttc for him. Diagnosed with pcos a little over a year ago, ovulating regularly since starting metformin last May...and still no BFP. Dhs SA perfect...We are booked into Westmead IVF in May (such a long wait, ugh), where Im assuming we will start on injectibles or something. Did about 6 rounds of clomid which failed (ovulated, but no pregnancy). Am currently on a million and one supplements, so would love to get pg already and stop taking 3/4 of them!
Anyway, I know some of you...Haylie and I have determined we are cycle twins...its bizarre . Ains, you need to keep us updated on all the ivf stuff since I might be heading down that path...
Have a good night girls!!
Hi Girls
I won't join your thread yet, as I've only been TTC for 11 months. Just wanted to say that I have read through the thread & have found it all very informative, especially regarding sperm tests. I'm going to have my first BT on Cd#21 currently Cd#5 & I still have to convince Dh to go & do his test. Pretty worried that he won't go & do it but I'm not going to force him. I've just ordered the Forelife mens preconception tabs, so I'll see if I can at least get him to take them!
Hope you all get BFP's soon!!!!!

 Hi Ladies!
I'm sure most of you know me by now!!
My name is Tara, I've been ttc since April 06 (with a 4 month break). There is absolutely no reason why we should not have fallen pregnant by now! I have had a laparoscopy (well 2, after they botched up the first one, and admitted me overnight ), dye studies, internal/external ultrasounds, blood tests....
Initially they thought i had severe endo, and PCOS, but they found neither. DHs tests are fine too.
After no luck with normal medicine with conception, or for my HORRIBLE AF's. I have been trying acupuncture and chinese herbs. My cycles are more regular and although i do still have one excrutiating day of AF, the other 4 are pain free.
My acupuncturist believes i still have imbalances causing me to not fall pregnant, so is working on that. I have also been told by a psychic that i will fall pregnant in Oct 08, with help, and a family member needs to pass over first.
I go back to my gyno in a couple of weeks to discuss my options. i am not sure if she might try Clomid before referring me to a FS?
For years I never thought i would have children, and i can't explain why, but now it does feel like it will happen, maybe through IVF, but i just know i am putting everything i can into making it happen.
I have weight to lose too, and that is what i am trying to put my focus on.
I am taking this whole month off TTC, and just came back from 4 days on the Gold Coast and an acupuncture session.
Bliss :dizzy:
Now I just need to see this cycle out, and hopefully start on Clomid next cycle.

Any ideas?? she thinks she has o'ed and should be about 5 dpo. Not sure what to tell her. Help??

Hi Grace3,
I noticed that you been TTC for a year,I've been trying for 12 years. I have gone for two IVF with no success, I was diagnosed with PCOS which didn't help while ungoing the IVF as I was very sensitive to the drugs hormones and lead to a very low eggs production and vey poor quality.
Three month ago I came across a supplement called FertilAid which I decided to give it a go and,I dont know if you have heard of it! it is all natural herbs composition and have no preservative. In fact I gave it to my two sisters who were TTc too, one for 2 year and the other for 1, Unfortunately for me it haden,t happened apregnancy yet as my hubs is working over sie for the past 4 month. One thing I can tell you though is that it have inproved my reproductive system in terms of regulating my very irregular and pain full cycles which comes with no pain, no bress tenderness and a great amount and good quality of CM .
The other good news is that both my sisters are pregnant after taking the supplement for only few weeks. You know some time the problem can be on the man side so there are also have the same supplement for man from the same brach.
I high recomend you to give it a try,Just write the supplement name at google search and learn more about it.
keep posted.
Good luck

Ains, I know it's easier said then done, but don't stress...............sending you lots of :hugs::hugs:. Just keep thinking of your :bfp:. It will all be worth it, I promise.
Hi Tara, we also have unexplained infertility. I'm seeing a great naturopath who seems to think that although BT say my hormones are in the 'normal' range, they're on the lower end of the scale which isn't enough for me to get my BFP, so we're working on getting those up a bit for now. My cycle is like clockwork but PMS & the pain with AF is quite bad. Lucky you getting away to the Gold Coast for a few days!!!
Susie, I don't really have much to offer on your question, they do sound like pregnancy symptoms to me but seeing as though it only 8dpo, she could also be fighting a virus maybe.
Welcome Gasparita..........12 years TTC...........I am in awe of you!!!! And sending you :hugs::hugs::hugs:.

Mekiss- I haven't been trying for 12 months yet either (nearly!) so I am a thread crasher. Stick around anyway!
Mellymumma- Mason is doing really well, thanks for asking. This week he has mastered drinking from a proper cup & chucking really good tantrums  I like your plan by the way!
Gasparita- lots of :hugs: your way. You are a very strong woman to go through so many years of TTC. It will be so amazing the day you get your bubba after all that hard work :cloud9:
Ains- aw I wish there was something I could say to make it better about your injections :hugs: You just gotta get through that first one, and then you will be an expert in no time at all.
Tara- I bet you are enjoying your month off, that sounds like bliss. Did you have a great time away?
Susiebabes- if you are asking about gilda- yep I think she is preggers!!
I went to the baby shop today to get Mason a new hat, but while I was there I checked out the little newborn clothes. OH SO CUTE! I have chosen the 2 outfits I will be buying for the bub to wear home from hospy- one pink and one blue - we are waiting for the ultimate surprise at the end. I can't wait!!! It's kinda sad I do all this stuff like look at baby clothes etc but really I think it's the only thing that keeps me going and keeps me hopeful iykwim.

Then a wave of excitement comes over me.....I am being pro active. I am closer to a BFP than i have ever been before. I am helping my body do things it cant naturally do itself and thats a WONDERFUL thing. I am so worried about injecting tomorrow, but there are options. If i cant do it myself then i can go to the drs. Or i can go to the clinic. Its not the end of the world if i cant do it myslef. I am no less of a person and i am not weaker than the people that do inject themselfs. I am going to try my hardest. I am going to try and hold the pen and i will try to do it myself.....but i wont put pressure on myself if i cant.
I am so thankful that i have found a place where i can voice my fears and i dont get the conversation of "well its not as bad as having cancer" (thank you aunty...who has cancer and has been through IVF)
I am a strong woman. I am going to rise above these small hurdles and I will get my BFP in a few weeks. This time next month I will be pregnant!

OOhhhh Ains, i would be freaking right about now, but only because i'm a sook. I'm sooo excited for you.
As for the thing on Sunrise this morning, don't know if anyone answered it for you, but they were basically just talking about a new system for washing/sorting the sperm before IVF/IUI. It apparently is more acurate and doesn't cause any harm to the DNA. They are just doing clinical trials at the moment.

Morning girls!
Gosh you girls talk!!
Thanks for the welcomes, and a big welcome to the other newbies!
Great name change on the thread...we need some positivity around here...
Susie, hope your wrist is feeling better?? As for your friend, I would think it would be a little too early to be feeling those things, but have her wait a couple days and test.
Ains, it was nice to put a face with your name...you and dh are too cute! You actually look a little familiar to me...I wonder if Ive seen you somewhere around Sydney? As for your completely NORMAL reactions to starting a crazy rollercoaster ivf journey...I think you have a good perspective and things will work out just fine for you. :fingerscrossed: for that BFP for you - first go!
Tara, its really nice to put a face to your name as well..how nice a little trip to Gold Coast! Looks like you guys are nice and relaxed...
Gasparita, 12 years, oh my! :hugs: Glad to hear the Fertilaid is helping with your cycles...hopefully when dh gets home, you will get that BFP you've been longing for...Id say you deserve it!
Hello to everyone else!!
So, what thread were you girls all involved in together? I sort of feel like I stepped into an already established club, haha....
I have my endo appt next week and must say that Im looking forward to it...ever since I started losing weight, pcos symptoms have been getting worse rather than better...hair loss (which is devastating!), and cycles lengthening. Im hoping its temporary, but my endo may be able to shed some light on it. Off to the gym this morning...have a great day ladies! Ill be in later just so that I can keep up with you!!

Hi girls!
Ains- how did you go this morning? I was thinking of you :hugs:
Welcome Sharai!
Britt- most of us were in the Trying to Fall Pregnant thread but there are so many new ones in there now that we were all finding it hard to keep up with each other without getting lost. So we joined a new one! But I still read and check into the old one to see how those girls are doing. Once again we are doing the same thing, we both have our appointments next week.
FF put my O date a day forward so is still saying I am 3dpo. My temps really do reflect that but I can't figure out why I'm still getting ewcm, and why my stupid OPK's are still showing a 2nd line

Also, Katiesmum I'm not sure if I've got this right but I think you have a Doctors appt this morning? If so good luck with that hun.

I haven't been tracking or charting or timing BD! haven't even been checking CM etc, except today which is CD11 and things should be getting watery if not EW, but when i wiped I couldn't help but notice a heap of creamy CM and one giant blob of jelly stuff. Baylismum, ds likes to "hide" things as well...his new thing is throwing everything away in the kitchen garbage bin! If I cant find something, I will usually end up digging through the trash and find it at the bottom! :shame:
tara, I get that nasty snotty blobby stuff as my cervix is opening before I get ewcm...so I would say its signalling the beginning of your fertile phase...
Matalee, have fun with your parents down...wish mine could come over...they live in the states. :(

MORNING GIRLS (still morning here in WA)
Well weren't you all very chatty lastnight.
Well done Ains, very brave, don't know how I would do it if I had to.
Started thinking again this morning that there must be definitely something preventing me & DH from falling preggers. We've been together since I was 16 & as we all know at that age you're not very careful & don't think it will happen to you. Well it never did & we weren't careful at all, so if it didn't happen then why would it now? Plus I keep on having these dreams where we're half way through bding or half way through doing a HPT & someone (normally Mum or Mil) interrupts us, I've interpreted this as there is something in the way of us falling preg.
Rant, rant, rant... guess we won't know until we have the tests done.

Lol Mel, I am only on my 2nd thermometer- Mason hid the first one so I ordered another from lullaby concpetions. Of course the day it turned up I also found my other one  So I have 2 now!
Have had a crazy morning at mothers group. Mason is getting really naughty lately, he pushes the other kids a bit which makes me feel really bad and embarrassed. Sometimes he's just trying to be friendly and give cuddles and kisses but he gets a bit carried away with it and ends up throwing himself on the other kids.

susie, you need one of those things where you speak into a microphone and the comp types it for you!
Katiesmum, cant wait to hear back from your dr appt...
Haylie, enjoy getting your hair done! And dont worry too much about Mason...its a stage I think they all have to go through at some point...and mothers who have had children that age at some point will be understanding...I know I would be.
Baylismum, Carter is about the same age as Bayli - 2yrs and 2 months....arent they little scavengers? Carter loves collecting things and hording them, haha.
I just realised (after reading in a mag) that Im prob iron deficient...I take supplements, but take them with calcium and zinc supplements as well, which I just learned keeps the iron from being absorbed! I have been so bloody tired lately, so this must be the reason...ugh, if its not one thing, its another. Just got off the phone with DOCs...long story short, we have been wanting to foster for a long time, but all the private agencies require your youngest child to be older than like 4. Well, DOCs isnt as picky, so we're trying to start the training...will keep you posted!

Well went to the Doctor today :gloomy:
am still in shock really :crying:
I have Chronic Myeloid Leukemia (CML). It is a slowly pregressive bone cancer. :gloomy:
They apparantly have a new drug treatment which has been used for the last 10 yrs or so, called Glivec. They have had really good results with it so far ....
The meds do not cure the cancer, but do treat it fairly effectively, so that it doesnt progress to the next stage. The only other treatment option is a bone marrow transplant .......not something I want to contemplate.
Unfortunately Givec is not safe to take whilst pregnant (well - they dont know....but assume no) so I cant be ttc whilst taking it. As my case was diagnosed fairly early, my Dr said that I can take another drug (interferon) in the mean time and have a baby ......but I have to start the Glivec in about 12 months time ......and once I start on the Glivec, I cant ttc - and I have to stay on it for ever.
This means that if we are to do IVF (which apparantly I can still do if I want to), we must do it NOW.
As we only have 3 months or so, that means 1 stim cycle and 1 FET. The risks of miscarraige are also higher becuase of the meds and my increased platelet count .....so not really sure what we will do - havent decided anything yet......still in shock that I have leukemia

Julie, I dont know what to say :hugs:. I wish there was something I could do...BUT, I believe in prayer, so I can do that for you...Im sorry babe!
On another front, yay for my new friends on facebook! Im still trying to get to all your pages to view pics and stuff...
Susie, was laughing at the fact you work in workers comp!
Baylismum, will check out that photo of your nephew, altho Im afraid it will make ME even cluckier! Thats funny about Bayli...I must admit, I would rather him be a hoarder than a hider...at least I know where everything is, haha...
Ains, did you have a good night with dh?? I watched Beaches yesterday (which was stupid, because I know I cry EVERY TIME), and we (read I, because dh fell asleep) watched King Kong last night too. I must say, its not too bad until they stumble across the dinosaurs...then everything gets to be too unbelieveable...but it was good entertainment. Hope you're not as tired today!
Mel, thanks! I dont have updated photos of him on facebook...I must do that! Exciting plans for the weekend?? Nope...working out, church, dh working. Same old, same old.
Haylie, dont worry, my dh doesnt notice my hair either when I get it done..Im sure it looks amazing! I know what you mean too...our friend got pg about SIX MONTHS after we started ttc and is about to give birth. :( Car, not yet...he texted dh and asked about cost of rego, but dh reminded him (or helped him realise) that our car is the sports version, so is much higher in price on the redbook, because we have a sneaking suspicion he didnt know. I might have to have a chat with Princ3ssah and see what insight she can give...how were your temps today??
Tara, I agree...your car is fabulous, but you wouldnt want to do anything to stand out, haha.
Hi to Grace and the rest of the girls!
Julie, more :hugs:.
Busy weekend, so may not be on much, but will check in soon!!

Oh, Julie. I am devestated for you. In fact i feel sick.
The reason - i just started reading a book called My Sister's Keeper and it is about a child diagnosed with Leukemia. They decide to try for another child hopefully as a bone marrow match for their daughter and they do it through advanced IVF, specifically selecting the embryo with the best match. It got me thinking to what i would do in that case.
Then i started thinking of you and what would happen at the next appointment because they had mentioned they were going to slowly break it to you, and kind of started to wonder from the things you had mentioned... My boss is a haematologist and i wanted to ask him about you, but i was scared of what he might say. I didn't even want to think it... and then BAM, your news.
I am so sick with worry for you. If i could i would fly over to Perth now and hug you.
I am so glad you have the option of IVF now though, and we will all donate every single sprinkle of :babydust2: to you.
Ps my friend told me the book has a happy ending.

I'm stuck at home as well today, DH is studying. He has exams on Wednesday. :goodvibes: <---- for DH
I guess I could go out, but I'm in my old trackie dacks, pottering around do the washing and some ironing. Thinking about mowing the lawns for DH. I've been thinking about it for the last 3 hours
Hey Ains, I've been thinking about going back having another reading done, what do you think? Too soon?
Katieflutterby
15-03-2008, 13:35
Hey ains,
Well, I am 3dpo now, so just waiting... but I havent been on Bubhub as much this cycle, purely because there isnt much to tell, DH is "out of action" at the moment.... long story...I would fill you in on the details, but its probably way tmi. He is seeing a specialist next week. So I'm not holding much hope for this cycle. We did manage to BD (sort of...) twice before O though, so there is still a chance, but Im basically just ruling this cycle out. If I get a BFP I will be very pleasantly surprised!
I have read that you had your first needle! Well done! Im sure you will be a pro in no time. How exciting, you have actually started IVF now!!! I cant wait to see that :bfp:
I also took Taras advice and have had some accupuncture. Im on some chinese herbs now too, to help with my 42-44 day cycles. Lets hope that makes a difference. If not, I have an appointment with a fertility specialist on April 29, to discuss Clomid to help with long cycle/short luteal phase.
Hey Noms! How you goin? Hanging in there!
Hey to all you other lovely ladies, I have read this entire thread over the past few days, and even though I dont post much at the moment (as i said, nothing to tell!!), I still feel so close to you all, you are such a great support and I think I would be lost without the support and understanding you all give. Yay for the BFP club!

Hey Grace Im doing the exact same thing today, I had good intentions of getting up and doing lots of stuff but it just aint happening!
Are you talking about a psychic reading? I had one done in January this year. I asked about babies, and she said she thought i would not be pregnant for at least another 9 months.... :( She said i would be 26 1/2 when i gave birth. So i guess time will tell! She also said I would have 3 daughters :bee:
go for it......but going back too often could ruin the excitement.
:D
I think the only reason I would go back is that during such a short period of time a lot has changed and happened.
That was not mentioned in anyway .
Generally, I would only go once every 1-2 years.
Baldie's Mum
15-03-2008, 13:43
i was given the number 25 to think about. It could be 2+5 or 2 and 5 or anything........i told the reader that if i wasnt going to have a baby until i was 25, i would hunt him down and hurt him......... but with the magic of science (oh how i love you science) i will be a mum when i am 23.....!!!! :goodvibes: :goodvibes:

 ains, OK but you asked for it!!
Basically, he has a small cut that wont heal, and everytime we get .... intimate.... it ends up bleeding, so we cant really BD... We did manage to sort of do it twice (basically just getting his ...deposit.. out and me lying with my hips in the air to make it run down to where it should be...
I cant beleive I just said that!!
So now you can understand why I dont hold out much hope for this cycle :o

Yep. This is why I am interested in going back. I asked at about m/c's but nothing was mentioned.
I really did have such positive thoughts about the last pregnancy, maybe this positiveness was so strong it over powered her ability to see what was underlying.
Does this make any sense?
Ok I know I'm a bit loopy at times.....
Afternoon ladies
Julie hun I posted in the other thread. I'm still in disbelief about it and just hope that we are all able to support you in some way. As I said, please let us know if we can. In the meantime know that we are all thinking of you (I for one can't stop thinking about it).
As for you girls with your readings - did I tell you that my mum and my aunt both went to psychics this year (January) and were both told I would be having twins, via IVF and would be preg in 3 to 6 months.....I so badly hope they were right. Although I dont understand the twin bit given Im only allowed one emby transfer....
I hope the rest of you are going well...(I love this thread!!). I am off shopping with DH but should bbl

That does make sense! They would pick up on your positive energy for sure.
I think i posted at the time, but again I am very sorry about your recent m/c :gloomy:
I didnt ask the lady i saw about m/c either. I told her I had a m/c in November, thats about it. I also had a psychic tell me once i would have twins (YEH!! would love that!!) But they always say 3. (DH is determined it will only be 2, so that will be interesting!)

lol ains and bubfree, can i have twins too??? lol

Oh well, what will happen will happen.
How is everyone in here today??
Katieflutterby
15-03-2008, 14:27
Ains im glad to hear im not the only one who wants twins! I tell people that, and they say im crazy, but i think twins would be fantastic! Yes it might be more work but i would happily do it!
And I tend to let myself get excited about psychics too, DH always gives me a lecture before i go "Now dont give them too much information! Dont talk too much and give them the answers, just say yes or no, dont tell them anything!!"
The most eery thing i have experienced with a psychic was 5 yrs ago, my mum was sick (with breast cancer) and I asked him what he saw about her future, and he said the number 3, so 3 months or 3 years she would be here for. She died 3 months later TO THE DAY. I didnt realise it till a few months after she died, and i got chills up my spine.
Baldie's Mum
15-03-2008, 14:32
oh katie i just got chills.....
My freaky thing that happened at a reading was only a few months ago. I went to one not long after my pop died. The day before the reading someone (i assumed it was my bestfriend cause he normally visits me) visited me after dh left for work. I didnt look at the face or anything but they put their hand on my shoulder as i slept. It was amazing..... when i went to the reading the first thing she said was your pop will always have his hand on your shoulder. He is looking after you through your troubles at the moment. she then went on to say you will have a child with the same personality as your pop....
i said nothing about my pop dying!!!
Katieflutterby
15-03-2008, 14:41
Oh wow I got chills reading that too! Its amazing isnt it.
Hey Bubfee! I cant stop thinking about Julie too, it is such sad news. I hope she is doing ok today (as good as she can be at a time like this)
I hope the readings your mum and aunt got are right, and you will be preg within 3-6 months! I hope we all are and can be in the due in threads together.

Katieflutterby
15-03-2008, 15:00
Yes i would love twins. I always remember saying I wanted twins, even when i was really young (not sure why, just did). If you could pick exactly what you wanted, I would have twin girls. But I dont care, I just want to be pregnant, im not choosy!
WotWillBWillB
15-03-2008, 15:06
lol yeah if only! :D i think i would like twin boys (i may life to reget saying this but anyway) i would also love identical. I think this would be soo super cool.
but as i have been told i have a higher chance of releasing 2 eggs i would more likly then not get non identical.
But :iagree: with what you said, i would be happy totally with anything! :D
Katieflutterby
15-03-2008, 15:09
You never know, you could release 2 eggs, and both could divide into identical twins, and end up with 4 babies!! Goodness wouldnt that be a handful!:laughing:
Do you know why you have a higher chance of releasing 2 eggs? Is it a family history of twins? I have no family history, so Im not holding out much chance... but if I end up on Clomid, its a possibility.
WotWillBWillB
15-03-2008, 15:31
lol actually katie it is quite funny you should say that about 4. DH has already said how about we have 2 sets of twins! :(
I am on clomid, so this is my 5 cycle, if not pregers this time i will be going on to puregon injections. Which the chance of twins increase and also increases chances of higher multipuls so 3 +.
So far on clomid i have had 4 full cycles and have (and it is confirmed) in one (and maybe more they were unsure of the second one) i relased 2 eggs. I am on 50mg of clomid! lol
i think it is quite funny!

MEN!!! :hair:
I've been mowing the lawns, looking after our kids, dealing with disagreements and organising the kids dinner, then bathing and putting them to bed.
DH walks in the door saying (tongue n' check), that he expects not to be waiting for his dinner and also expects it to be organised.
In the mean time his mother phones to say hello and talks to me, then DH about how controller her husband can be.
After the phone call with his mum, I tell DH I'm having a shower as I'm a bit bongo and he is still worried about his dinner.
Thinking about his mum and her can be controlling husband I say to DH whilst getting ready for the shower "Why does your mother put up with him?". His reply is "Probably the same reason I put up with you!".
Well up your bl00dy bottom. I politly :devil6: told him next time he can mow is own******lawns.
And where do you think he is now.
Picking up our Pizza, cause I'm not cooking now!!!!
Then cope this. On the way out the door, he turns off our classical music being played and tells me, I don't deserve to listen to beautiful music like this, when I act like a cow!!!!
We haven't had s*x since christmas and boy oh boy, it might be next christmas before he gets anything else.

Mmmmm maybe I need to re-consider this part
He does it so I will bite and get heated up (joking).
He starts a discussion and walks away when it doesn't go his way. He reminds me of a person who drops a stinky rotten fart and then leaves the room.
Better go ladies, he's gone to bed and I just got given the good night kiss. I better have a cuddle in bed, cause I haven't seen him all day.

Its 6 pm, i want dinner your the house ****....." then when he turned my music off i would have gotten up and turned it up louder! (who cares if the kids are sleeping, if they wake up he can put them back down...)
If he makes remarks about your lawn, hire a contracer to do it!!! He works, he pays!
My dh complained that i dont vaccume very well, so i dropped the vaccum on his toes and said "YOU DO IT THEN". He learnt very quickly that he can do the jobs from now on if he is so confident that he does it better!!!

Hi guys :yelclap:
Hoping that you dont kick me out. I am only on cycle 2 ttc #2 but it has been 3 months so far. I have longer cycles... anyways the reason I would love to come and join is because I am already SCARED!
I know I did end up falling pregnant last time, so it WILL happen again... its just the amount of time that it will take that I am getting scared about. ttc #1 took us almost to the three year mark and I really dont think I will cope all that well if I have to go through the pain that it causes all over again.
I stupidly thought that because I was on clomid from my first cycle this time that I would fall straight away and all would be perfectly as I wanted it to be, but not the case. We are now on cycle two and I am ashamed to say that I already have the telltale signs of losing hope!
So I guess i want to be a part of you group so that I can share in your pain, and have somewhere to turn to people who already understand what its like to be a long term ttc'er, even though so far I am not considered one for my #2 as yet.
I recognise a few faces in here but I am relatively new to BH, cant wait to get to know u all, if you'll have me :)

Goodmorning Lovely Ladies
:sunshine:
Well I had a dream last night (don't get them too often anymore). But anyway it was a little strange in the fact that it was a building and there was a pregnancy room. 2 pregnant people stood out. 1 being my old neighbour (she'd be about 60 now - wtf???) and the other lovely veryg pregnant lady was Mummy to Mason, yes Haylie - you you you!!!! I also saw you give birth (from the top end) and you had the most beautiful little baby girl. She was covered in a bit of vernix but she was just gorgeous. You were really calm and quiet during the birth. I really really hope my dream comes true for you!!!! :hugs::hugs:
There were lots of other ladies in the preg room too but I didn't really get to see their faces but I'm damn sure all you beautiful women were in there!!!!
No news for me here on boring old cd7 which means I will be ovulating over the easter weekend while mil is staying over. Oh what fun.
How you doing today Julie??? I hope you're taking it easy.
Hi Tara, I'm glad I got to see what your man looks like!!! He's got very sexy eyes!!! I hope you've been shagging like little bunnies/cats/dogs - whatever turns you on. Hahaha.
Hey ains. So was my prediction right about you being a pro by this weekend??? (needle taker/giver not hooker). I hope today is not so boring for you.
Hi Britt. You're more than welcome to come clean my house. No matter how much I clean 5 mins later its a shocking mess!!!!
Hi Rachael. I hope #2 doesn't take that long for you. Waiting sucks at the best of times but when you're waiting for a baby its much much worse.
Hey susiebabes. If ains can do it, you can do it!!!! You're going to be fine and then you're going to be preg and fine!!! Woohoo bring on twins, triplets and quads!!!!
Grace that dh of yours needs a swift kick up the ***!!!! Would you like me to come and sort him out? Hahaha. I hope he had to pay for that pizza. Did you sort out your differences out when you went to bed? Oh oh oh did ya shag??? :p Sorry.
As usual with personals I will have missed some of you. Its not a deliberate attempt of ignorance just my silly brain forgetting everyone in the thread. So to those whose names are not in my list above my sincerest apologies and a big hello.
I hope everyone has a wonderful day today.
Love hugs and kisses
Mel

Welcome to Victoria, Katieflutterby & gigglepot! Katie, I have not been TTC for a year yet either but I hope I am able to say on beahalf of everyone here that you are welcome to stay!
Mellymumma- I LOVE your dream :D Please let it come true! Especially the bit about the calm birth :fingerscrossed:
Hi to everyone else, too many posts to reply to! We had a busy day yesterday, we went to our god daughters naming day & 1st birthday party. Then we had a quick look at DFO for some shoes for Mason. They have so many good shops there, my faves were the one with all the OshKosh stuff and also there is a Royal Doulton (sp?) outlet store with the most beautiful baby clothes, I was in heaven. I can't wait to go shopping for my bub-to-be.
Mellymumma, our cycles are nearly the same atm. I'm currently on Cd8 & will probablo O around about next Saturday, we're going away but we have our own little cabin away from the people we're spending the weekend with. So I'll just have to try & be a bit quieter when we do our bding!
MIL's gotta love em!
Haylie sounds as if you're going to have to do a lot of bubby shopping given that Mel dreamt you're having a girl :bee: awwwww.
Well as for me...I think I am 5 dpo (FF says Im 3 dpo but I think otherwise). I promised myself I wouldnt get my hopes up this cycle given that I'm starting IVF in a bit over a week....but of course my hopes are a teeny bit up and I just keep wanting to be that person who you always hear about who got utd right before IVF. Mind you in saying that I am still planning for IVF and am off to pick up my drugs next Thurs.
What is everyone else up to today?
:babydust2::babydust2:to all who are still yet to O this cycle!

yeah it would i guess mine is not so bad as i am only changing drugs. i have to say the though of IVF just sends shivers up my spine!
sorry IVF ladies :hugs:. I have a funny feeling i will be there soon too!
so Bub how long have you been trying?
I know what you mean about IVF sending shivers - I still can't believe I am doing it. It still has that weird "this is not really happening to me...I will wake up soon...this sort of thing doesnt happen to people like me" feeling about it. But we do what we need to in order to have children. I wont stop until we have one. (hmmmm that sounded a bit scary and evil .....but you know what I mean!)
Been trying since November 06. A good friend and I started trying at the same time and she now has a gorgeous 6 month old....it hurts badly when the ticking clock has a real life growing baby to go with it!!
