Dumb questions

I don't suppose does any one know if the private patients get better meals than the public patients at the Mater Mothers? I just remember the quality of the food at the hospital where I had Sarah and Jack and the food at say the Wesley. I was there visiting a friend in December when her lunch came in and it was like from a resturant...just wanted to know as my tummy is growling for food and doing flip flops at the same time.

Hi Nikki,
Not sure about Mater Public but at the Private, they come along and its like a buffet. You go out and pick what you want and it is Heaps! For dinner they also have a glass of wine for you (if you want it). The food itself I thought was great and because Hans stayed over night with me He always had Dinner too. He is really picky and he loved it. We had to pay extra for him but it wasnt to bad.

I've had one bub at Mater public and the other at Mater private so I've done both...I was happy with the food at the public too, I'm so damn hungry after I give birth I'd eat anything lol. But the private definitely much nicer meals and a bit more choice as well.

Hi Ladies,

That sounds awesome!! I'm going Mater Private this time and will be looking forward to the glass of wine with dinner. Buffet - All my dreams come true!!!
I went public 1st time and it was pretty standard hospital food, not too bad though.
