Registry Wedding??

Have any of you got married at the regisrty office?? How was it?? and do you regret it?

I haven't been married (nor do I intend to) but some friends of mine got married last November at the Old Treasury Building in Melbourne and it was a registry wedding. The building is beautiful and you can have up to 50 or so guests in the big room. It was quicker but was still like a normal wedding. They were very happy with it.

my brother got married there last oct, him and my sil were really happy, even me and DF liked the look of the Old Treasury that much we are geting married there in 7 weeks!

Yep, DH and I were married in a registry office/court house in QLD last year, we have been together for 11 years and had always thought weddings were overrated, with a surprise bub on the way we wanted to be a family, we went for the stress free, cheap, family/relative free simple marriage, with just 2 witnesses, the marriage celebrant was nice an it took only about 10 minutes, I was 26 weeks preg by then.It worked well for us in our circumstances and I truly believe the wedding doesnt make the marriage, do what you both feel comfortable with.

hi - we're going to have a registry wedding in july/august probably. we're waiting til we get tax refund monies in to buy rings then we're going to grab 2 friends and just go do it!!!

my dp's family are all still in the uk and won't be able to afford to come here for a big wedding, nor do we have the money for one. with that in mind my dp and i think having a lavish celebration with only half our family here would put a dampener on things. personally i'm glad we're doing in at the registry office, i honestly don't think i could be bothered with all the preparations, but thats just me - i guess some people would love all the fanfare :)
