Hello there,
I'm currently 5 weeks pregnant and in the last week i've become a real ditz! I hard to explain, last week i was fine, usual quick thinking self, this week my brain doesn't seem to be working! Its like its just shutdown and things just come out of my mouth and have me thinking "did i really say that?" Its becoming frustrating (and embarrassing especially at work!) and its taken both of us by surprise! Has anyone else experienced anything like this??? Please tell me im not going to be like this till bubs born!

Welcome to the joys of "baby brain" :p Unfortunately i have been like it through most of my pregnancy, and i've just passed the 38 week mark, sorry to disappoint you. Atleast you have an excuse for it though :)

It definitely lasts past birth! Or at least I still blame my frequent memory lapses and inability to concentrate on my 1.5 year old daughter.

You are sooooo not alone!
I too suffer from this affliction :D . I found the first 2 months the worst and then my brain seemed to right itself for a few months (not completely mind you) and then the last 2 months I have been stumbling over words, forgetting what I am doing, forgetting what I was going to do before I even finish having the idea of doing it!!
It does get better after you give birth but it does seem to take quite a few months. Although I put that down to lack of sleep too!!
I have found during this pregnancy that I have actually needed to use a diary whereas before I could store all my dates and things in my head!!
Good luck, it does pass (or maybe you just get used to it  ).
Yep, I also had to start using a diary AND writing lists. When driving I had to remind myself to concentrate.... lasted the whole time. Now with a bub I still have to write lists mainly because there are so many other distractions going on, oh and yeah, the lack of sleep. Not as much gets done but I love every minute of it :)

Geez, I completely understand. My husband just laughs at me and says he wishes he could tape everything and play it back.
Luckily I work with my parents for a family business, so they don't really mind.
The other day hubby and I were grocery shopping - he came across something that he wanted to have for dinner - and I said (at the top of my voice) no way are we having that they can't even spell Chicken right. It was correct, but I swear it looked wrong. So hubby made a point of picking out everything chicken to make sure it was spelt right.
I felt like an absolute idiot. But hey, at least it got a few laughs.
Natalie. :)
