I know this probably sounds like a silly question but can breastfeeding make your AF late?

I guess anything's possible! Can't really speak from experience, I've only had 2 since giving birth and that was a perfect 28 day (the first time ever!).

Have you tested yet?

Oscar's mum

yeah I did a test and it was negative but then again I don't know how reliable the test is either considering not once when I was pregnant with Ozzy did it come back positive!

Ahh..blame it on the breastfeeding :D

I guess you have to get bloods done if you get worried? Yuck...hate blood tests!

No it hasn't! I went to the Dr and had the blood test and it came back negative which didn't really suprise me! But she said to come back in after the next period is due and she will do another pg blood test and an ultrasound to reveal what is happening!

I think I am pg! Regardless to what the test result said, I guess I just have to wait and see! lol:p

Hmmm I say yes BFing can most certainly interfere with AF. Isn't it supposed to? I mean isn't the theory that when you BF you don't get pregnant. I know you can, but isn't the idea that it's nature's way of stopping you from having bubbas too close together?

My last period was really late.

My breastmilk had suddenly dried up and the CHN asked me if i could be pregnant, at that stage i was 9 days overdue, my periods had never been late before so i ran out and got a test. Negative. The next day i got my period :smiliedance: I had cramping about 2 weeks before i got them aswell

breastfeeding does make your AF late. for some people they never get again till they stop altogther.

with me i have been b/fing now for almost 3 months. i got a small period of two days.

so it is pos. to happen. also b/fing doesn't mean that u willn't get preg. u still do ovulate. so b/fing is not a fool proof way of not getting preg.

if u keep getting cramps or other signs of peirods. then there is a chance that it is just your periods. but after birth or body changes. so this cramping in the front could your peirods. but don't qoute me on that. :D

Truelove2 I got my AF back probably around 9 months ago now and it has been regular ever since. I am now approx 11 days late. So that is why I find it odd! I am just wondering though with Ozzy being just over 13 months olds now wether or not him breastfeeding could make a difference as he certainly is on solids at this age  lol!

And the pain I am getting is down really low, not like normal period pain! Ahhhhhhh I hate waiting to find answers! lol;)

there is a good chance that u are preg. if ozzie is not fully b/f. sorry i didn't know that. did u get this pain with ozzie? as that could be a sign as well.

Ooops sorry I forgot to mention that earlier lol that Ozzy is well and truly on solids! Yeah I did get that pain with Ozzy and I also got negative results from all the HPT I tried and I didn't get the blood test done with him till I wa about 8 - 9 weeks.

The only thing I find weird is we tried for soooo many months to fall pg with Ozzy and it would just be odd to fall pg whilst using protection!

(But hey even I know condoms are not foolproof!)

yeah i know that feeling of trying for so long.. i tried fo 5 years to get my man.. gave up and feel straight away.. so yes u could be.. all sounds right to me.. but i am no dr.. but there is a chance that u could be as nothing is 100% safe.
