egg whites

well im about to give birth to my first child but i know how hard it can be for those TTC as my cousin has been for over 2 years, and I wish everybody who deserved it could be blessed with a beautiful baby!! So just a suggestion i heard from my cuz which u might have already heard or i might sound crazy (lol) but has anybody heard of the egg white method?
Basically its using egg white as a lubricant :eek: it is safe on sperm and is very similar 2 cervical mucus. my cousin said a friend tried it and got pregnant straight away... anybody know of it?

Yes, I've heard of it. It's in a book that I have at home - I think it's called Conception and Fertility can't remember the authors name though.

She didn't go into much detail, but she did mention it.

My fertility specialist advised me strongly against this, he had 2 women who tried it on the advice of a book (maybe even the one you're talkng about) and ended up with such severe infections they drastically reduced their chances of future conception, and even if they concieved their cervix had been so badly damaged they would be incapable of carrying a baby beyond 18 weeks.

I know some people have done it no probs but as far as I'm concerned its a risk I am NOT willing to take!

:thumbsdown: i would not risk it either then but ive heard conflicting views. my cousin said it was safe if everything was spotlessly clean as its just another food stuff going in ur body... but who knows

Is it possible that this "egg white thing" has been misinterpreted. I only say this as "egg white" is the way that a womans mucous is described as when she is ovulating.

It's a consistency thing.

Egg whites are very sticky.... sounds a bit dodgy to me. I wouldn't do it.

no, its definitely egg white as in the clear stuff from an egg. apparently you use a quarter of a teaspoon of egg white on the end of the penis and it acts as an effective carrier of the sperm , swoosh....on to the egg.
i only just happened to have read that last night, and wondered how safe it would be in your body. i wouldn't do it.

I dont think my hubby would particularly like egg over his manlihood - conception aid or not!!!

Nope - I dont think I would do that. Best to let the natural juices run wild! :D
