Is it just my baby, or are any one elses 9/10 not very affectionate...

When i pick her up to cuddle her, she pushes me away and wants to get down. The only time she ever slightly cuddles, is when she's feeding.

Maybe it's because she's going through a stage, where she just wants to be down on the floor, exploring and crawling and working it all out, that she doesn't want to cuddle me...

I hope this stage passes soon...

My eldest son from day one didn't want to be wrapped and didn't have any real need for my attention. I would pick him up for a cuddle him and he would squirm straight back down again. He probally never came to me just for a snuggle. It was just him, not all babies crave that sort of attention.

He is now 8 years old and still doesn't crave attention, he is just a happy-go-lucky little boy, who is sweet to his mum and good to his brothers, but still isn't really overly cuddly. He will come up for a cuddle every now and then, but he likes to show his affections in other ways. That is just the way he is. All my kids are so different.

Don't worry, your DD loves you, she is probally just like my son and feels very confident in your love for her and doesn't crave any reassurance.:)

Thanks... you just love them SO much, you'd like to see that love resipricated sometimes.. I know she loves me and she's still only young, and has so much more on her mind, like exploring and figuring things out and getting into everything... It would just be nice if she snuggled up to me once in a while...

You sound exactly like I used to. My second baby was a BIG cuddle boy. So much so that I would sometimes think "jeez, gimme a break bubs" We can't win.

I think its like you said, she just wants to be exploring now that she can move about on her own.

Charlotte's 14 months and she give the BEST cuddles and kisses now. She wraps around my neck really tight and sucks my bottom lip in, lol.

You'll soon have a cuddler!

My DS is affectionate when it suits HIM, ie if I am watching tv he will crawl up and give me big sloppy kisses (SOOO gorgeous), but if I want to cuddle him he will wriggle down a lot of the time.:p

He never leaves me alone!

Since birth, he's been a Mamma's boy, he chases me round the house, if he sees me he wants to be picked up for a cuddle, if I sit down he comes up and cuddles me from behind (then wants a piggyback LOL) it just never ends.

I've been known to do the dishes with him on my hip because he wants to be cuddled!

I love him being so cuddly, but what I wouldn't give for one wee on my own!:p

Awww don't worry too much over it, at this young age it is more so a mentality thing, they just don't understand emotions and feelings in that way like we do. It doesn't mean they love you any less :hugs:

This is true.. I suppose she shows she loves me in other ways, like giving me huge smiles, and getting excited, flapping her arms around when she sees me, or reaching up for me to pick her up (only then to push me away )

Oh of course!
