I've been eyeing the Peg Perego stroller recently due to two of it's features:

1. Suitable from newborn up.
2. reversible handle.

It also looks like a nice stroller, 4 wheels, stable, decent safety harness and so forth. Problem is, the floor model they have in my local DJ's doesn't seem to steer very well. Is that the case with this stroller in general or just an over-used and over-abused floor model having a tantrum?

Are there any bubhubbers who have owned this stroller? What are your opinions?

Peg prams usually have very light weight steering - I'd try another one at a different shop as I haven't come across any with heavy steering.

I have a peg classic carriage (ie looks like a old style pram with the seat that clicks on and off a frame) and a peg tender twin. Both (before I abused them) had gorgeous steering I would not hesitate to buy another peg. Keep in mind the strollers are really not suitable for anything other than a flat surface.Ie no grass, mud, gravel etc :) My tender twin is starting to need replacement wheels after putting up with a fair bit of rough treatment. The classic handles the mud etc a lot better.

I had a peg when DD was first born. I HATED it!!!

Although it was lightweight, had the advantages of having bubs faced toward you or away later on etc - all of which were some of the reasons we bought it for - the steering and suspension were CR@P!

It was marketed as an all-terrain pram to us when we bought it, but the slightest little bump or stone you go over is felt by the bubba. I ended up in ditches more times than I could count. The wheels are in groups of 2 (ie there are 8 wheels, in four-groups), and I found that unless all 8 wheels were touching the ground (ie on PERFECTLY flat surfaces) the wheels squeaked and carried on.
Be really careful if you're buying this pram. It would be fantastic if all you wanted to use it for was walking around shopping centres, but if you actually plan to, you know, walk on a sidewalk, park path, or somewhere else that has uneven or irregular ground, I wouldn't recommend buying it. We ended up returning ours and exchanging it for a 3-wheeler (which I was determined I was never going to have!) If you're interested, the Moutain Buggy 3-wheelers, about the same price, very lightweight, easy to manouver, only draw-back on the peg is that bubs can't face you when they're really little.

BTW - I also had a friend who had the same experience with the Peg - the type we both had was the Valenzia - so I'm not alone in my opinions!!

Good luck!:)
