View Full Version : Mums and Bubs at the Movies
I saw that my local movies (hoyts) have a mums and bub session once a week at 10.30. They open up pram access, keep the lights on low and you can watch a movie. I am thinking of giving this a go with my 4month as I am hoping he will either sleep or watch the movie. Has anyone gone to one of these?
Sometime the movies are quite loud and I was wondering whether it would be alright on his little ears?
Experiences anyone?:)
i havnt been to one, but i did see a sign at my local Greater Union that they turn down the sound and the bass so as not to damage bubs ears.
Hope that helps :)
Hi there
I went to quite a few movie sessions with my DD when she was younger. While the noise level was quite loud, it didnt seem to bother her, and she would often sleep thru most of the movie.
I found that usually there was only a few other mums there, so there was plenty of room for prams and toys on the floor.
I would definitely recommend giving it a go, if it doesnt work out, you have only spent $9 (I think!) and you get to get out of the house and see a current movie. Unfortunately I had to give it up once DD started walking as I was forever following her up the stairs and making sure she didnt go thru other people's bags...
HAve fun

I went to the one at my local cinema and omg it was packed (we were all made to leave our prams outside the cinema) - I was not impressed.
The noise level was fine though.
I went to one a few weeks ago (my first) at our local Hoyts. As you said they dim the lights and yes they also turn the sound down a bit, it was a little loud still but not to damage little ears. Prams were just parked along the outside isles.
I really enjoyed it. For $9 it is pretty good and Im not sure if all movie places do it but we got a little goddie bag with vouchers and product samples in it - bonus!
Our mothers group did this. I found it just a little bit too loud for bubs for my liking but she still managed to fall asleep. Definately give it a go.....no harm if you don't like it and you can leave cause its cheap enough :)
