For my DS I noticed blood in his nappy and a urine test confirmed UTI. Other signs could be temp and crying all the time. If in dought see you GP the hardest bit is trying to collect the wee sample from little girls, boys are much easer

The symptoms are usually pretty vague in kids under 3 - until they can tell you where it hurts pretty much. Some of the symptoms can be blood in the urine, irritability, vomiting and "failure to thrive", as well as fever, irritability. Occassionally, parents might notice odd smelling or cloudy or thick urine, and sometimes the baby shows obvious signs of distress when urinating.

If your baby has a temperature, it's best to take them to the doctor, and have them checked out. The only definitive way of diagnosing a UTI in a baby is to have a urine test done.

Good luck, hope your bub is okay!
