View Full Version : Big Lumpy Legs
My baby had her 8 wk injections today, she had one in each leg. Each injection site has swollen up quite a bit and is lumpy, does anyone know how long it takes for this lump to go down? Also is she supposed to get one jab in each leg??
Yeah my DS has had all his needles and has just had his 8 month ones and has always had them in both legs. But he has never experienced lumps, he just gets a bit tired and grumpy.
Poor little bubs.

Oh poor bubby:crying:
Yeah it's normal to get one jab in each leg and it can sometimes take weeks for the lumps to go down.
I hope your night goes okay:)
It is pretty normal to get a small lump at the injection site. It should go away in a few days.
Its also normal to have the injections in different legs...bit less violent than having one leg terribly sore and the other fine :)
You shoudl have been given a booklet at the time of injection explainign all the side effects to look out for? Hopefully you did, its good to put the mind at ease.
Lots of love and cuddles and all will be fine in a day or two :)

I remember my DS's 4 month needles where he had one in each leg and one arm  We started splitting them after that.
The lump may last for a couple of days. Maybe a little ice on it if it looks inflammed. Otherwise panadol/nurofen for infants if she gets a fever at all.
Lots of cuddles for her !:hugs:

As others have said panadol & neurofen if she seems a little off or hot but mainly cuddles & kisses for her & her mum of course will help :hugs:
If her legs get really sore then use a cold face washer pop it into the freezer for a bit to cool it then hold it onto the wound site this will help ease the pain a little but if it seems infected or the likes head straight off to the doctors !
Good luck give her some time all will be fine im sure :)
