Hey all,
I was just wondering if and how much excercise people are doing?
I started going to preggibellies classes twice a week and go swimming once a week. I can't believe how much it lifts my spirits :smiliedance:. I wasn't doing anything in particular before but it really helps me sleep and I feel like I am getting into training for the big day. We don't kill ourselves but I've definitely noticed I am stronger and fitter. I love the swimming, makes me feel like I am taking my little bub for a splash :)
Anybody else doing anything?
Cheers Ler

I was going to the gym up until i fell pregnant. Since then i had gone on the odd occasion, but i just felt so sick and light headed after it that i have put it on hold for 6 months. So i am not doing much at all :( But i am still so exhausted all the time.

I am going for Yoga classes once a week and other days practice yoga at home every alternate days. Like others, fatigue and light headedness are my major symptoms too so I try to relax and take it easy.Yoga definitely lifts up my spirit and make me feel more energetic. :)

Gosh all this talk of exercise I have just eaten a packet of biscuits :D Agggh now I feel guilty hehe.
I haven't done alot, but plan on walking lachlan a bit more now that it is cooler. Having an active toddler certainly keeps me on my toes anyhow....

Hi girls, I am doing a combat class once a week, and go and use the treadmill twice a week. I also take both my boys to swimming lessons, on the same day. This really tires me out, because I have to get in the pool with both of them. I think its all the getting in and out of the pool, plus changing them. I really want to keep it up though because I think its really important. We all have to have a sleep when we get home. LOL

I have been wondering as a first timer what the exercise norm is... None of my friends have been forthcoming so this was interesting to read.
I am going to the pool a couple of times a week (sometimes three times, sometimes once, sometimes not at all!). But recently have been in pain and not going at all. Pelvic bones seem out of whack and feet feeling bruised from the moment I get up! Youch. :chillpill:
Anyway, I went to the pool this week, and my symptoms eased a bit, so I guess exercise is much more important than I was realising. It is good to know there are others who are feeling it can all be too much though... :o
Kudos to the ladies with young kids btw - I think you are amazing!

Hi all,
I've been walking most days, sometimes only 20 mins, sometimes for an hour. I ran right up until I found out I was pregnant about 3 times a week but soon after I discovered that no bra was supportive enough, 2 didn't even do the job in those early days so I stopped.
I'm also doing pre-natal yoga once a week and going to water aerobics once a week. I also bought the preggibellies excercise dvd which is fun too.
Before I was pregnant I excercised almost without fail everyday, but I've been a bit more lenient on myself lately and usually have 1-2 days off per week. I does make me feel better but some days I have to FORCE myself to go!

I instruct 3 RPM (Spin) classes a week and participate in 2 pump classes (Lowered my weights and modified particular moves to compensate), all of which are low impact. I monitor my heart rate and ensure that I don't over heat my body. You are the best judge of what you feel comfortable doing. It's not the time to take up a new exercise regime but if you were active before you fell pregnant you can remain active during, just listen to you body and if you don't feel like exercising don't :)
It's better for you and the baby to remain active. My appetite has increased significantly:yes: so it's certainly better for me, that way I can have the occasional naughty snack when I feel like it.
Exercising helps me stay on top of things mentally.....
We are all getting so close now...can't wait :yelclap:
I walk everyday and also do aqua physio once a week aswell as stretches and other bits and pieces whenever I get the chance. :)

Along with Yoga also going to gym. I do walking, Biking and weights for chest and hamstring. My technique for swimming is faulty so i'm not swimming but I so wanted to.
You guys are making me tired just reading this thread!!
I had spotting early on in the pregnancy and was told not to do anything (miscarried last year), but I am wishing now that I had anyway as everything poops me out! I think I will just have to make sure I get more walks on the beach just to prepare me a bit.
I would have loved to do yoga right through - was doing a body balance class right up until we found out we were preggers and had to suspend my membership until after Bub arrives. I wonder if I'd be OK to do some light yoga now? Might check with the Dr next time I see him.

See if you can find a pre-natal yoga class! It's really worth it! I feel as though I've had a really good stretch out and it's great fro concentrating on your breathing too!

TBH if you are wiping the floors and dusting the house every single day or quite often, it serves the same purpose as any light exercise recommended during pregnancy. I know its old fashioned but it works well with anyone who does it.
Well I took your advice Melmc and found a Yoga for Preggies class - started this morning, and it was great!
Have also booked in to a special exercise class called "Blooming Bellies" on a Monday night that is run by a Physio. I figure that if I do those two classes and squeeze in a good quality walk on Thursday, I should be OK.
Will be sitting down shortly (once I've finished reading up on the threads) to do a meal plan for the next fortnight - I've been eating WAY too much rubbish (mmmm Cheezles....), and I feel awful for it - can't be good for me or Bub. Not planning on restricting myself in terms of how much I eat, but do want to be making good healthy choices!
