hey ladies i have 2 dresses i love for different reasons.... so i need some help!

Dress 1 (http://www.essensedesigns.com/files/onepiececatalogue-pg8.html)
(dress D530, 5th dress on the top row)
-makes me look hot! it makes my waist look so thin and really suits my body, wouldnt hve to get it altered
-is $700 cheaper than the other
-has a bigger train, which i like
-there is lots of sparkle in the lace, the pic doesnt do it justice

Dress 2 (http://www.bliss-bridal-gowns.co.uk/roz_la_kelin.php)
(the dress named 'venice', 2nd from the top in the left hand column)
-still looks gorgeous, but not quite as flattering as the first
-has the 'wow factor' that i love
-the skirt sways as i walk with the hoops underneath
-is the sort of dress ive dreamed of as a little girl :)

please help me decide!

It's hard to judge as you can't see the first dress below the waist, judging by the bodice alone, I would choose the Venice, and the bottom of that is absolutely gorgeous.

oooh hard decision!! they are both really pretty. a saving of $700 is pretty dramatic though... what sort of wedding are u having? would one suit the day better than the other? the second one is quiet formal. i personally like the first one better :D

if you scroll across once you click on the link to enlarge, there are two more pics to the right!

lady grey: yeah we are trying to keep it less formal, we are having the reception in a restuarant on an olive farm, and the ceremony in the gardens...:cloud9:

Ffrenchstar: yes that is my dilemma!! :P

Absolutely Dress 1.

Sounds like it fits you beautifully and it is classically elegant without being too tissy. And from the wedding you have described I would say Dress 1.

I think dress 1. By what you described as your wedding setting.

It's hard - there's elements of both which I find "better" than the other.

Overall I think I prefer the first dress... the other one looks a bit OTT, and I don't really like the way it hangs in the front... I know it's gathered on purpose, but it kinda looks like it just accidentally did that, and the little bit of lace below it peeking out just looks a bit funny... the lace is pretty, but not so much with the pavlova gathering... iykwim?

The first is nicer IMO.

Im not much help, i think they are both beautiful!

but judging by what you said, it sounds like you like the first one better... it also sounds like it will suit the type of wedding you are having better than the second...

I love Dress one- it is glamourous, special, princessy, just beautiful, without being too over the top. Dress two however is pretty- but way too over the top for me- too much frill lol!

And to be honest when I read your description in your initial post, you kinda sound like you prefer dress one too!!!!! (Maybe your mind is already made up- you just don't realise it!)

ANd it is $700 cheaper- thats a lot to save IMO.

:iagree: - love those little cap sleeves. And I like quite a plain dress. But good luck with whichever one you choose - they are both lovely

I absolutely love the second one. But if the first one is more flattering, then that is definitely the way to go.

Sorry I was just looking around and have taken interest in you trying to choose a dress. I think the first one would suit you more.......It is elegant and will look great on. Are you having your hair short??? I notice your photo, you have short hair. This dress will look great with short funky hair and either feather or lace headpiece I feel...... nice

Hi, I have worked in the Bridal Industry for 5 years now. You have chosen two very good designers. I will admit that I am a little biased though as the second dress is from a designer called Roz La Kelin and I had a dress from this australian designer when I got married. They are both beautiful gowns though. We did sell the Venice gown where i worked and it is a beautiful gown.

Good luck.

Oh I love dress #1 too.
Another important factor is comfort. Are both dresses comfortable to wear? Do you have to hoik (is that how you spell it?) dress #2 up all the time because all the hooping and stuff is heavy?
Both lovely dresses - good luck making your decision.

Was about to say the same thing ... my first feelings when reading your post (before looking at the pics), were you had mentally decided on Dress 1 already.

I absolutely love the 1st one too :D

one of my best friends wore a roz la kelin dress omg it was awesome! very expensive but awesome!!!
they had photos taken at an old abandoned farm they are beautiful!!
if you want to feel like a princess for a day go with no 2.

The first one is very beautiful and not so fussy as no.2.
And I prefer it strapless to the sleeves and I don't even like strapless wedding gowns. (that's how gorgeous I think it is).

I vote for dress number 2 simply because it is the one you've dreamed about. But if budget is a problem then dress 1 is more than fantastic enough!

I am not sure when you are getting married... I LOVE both of them.

I think I like #1 the most....

Althought #2 is gorgeous if you are having a summer wedding... or remotely warmish wedding... You will be wanting to rip that dress off straight after the ceremony.

I wish I could of left mine on!

Hi,
I like 1, however only you can decide which is the right dress.
One way to help make the decision is to think about the future, if in 10 yrs time you think you'll be able to say you just loved the dress and it was just what you wanted or if you'll say I should have bought the cheaper dress and saved the money, IYKWIM.

Dress 1 for sure.Dress 2 reminds me of a meringue. You should add a poll to this post.

It sounds like you have already made up your mind in the 1st post. I love the 1st one. It is on my short list as well, and the $700 savings is going to be great as you can spend it on other areas of the wedding.

I think the first dress is gorgeous. Its the exact dress I am about to order for my Oct 4 wedding. I agree that it makes the top look great. My thighs and bottom are my biggest areas and the D530 hides these. I avoided trying on dresses out of fear I would be depressed about how I looked. I was on a happy high weeks when I found this dress. Good luck with your choice.

I love the 1st one

And think from a practical point of view too. My SIL had a hooped skirt and had to have her MOH with her every time she went to the toilet. Not really my idea of fun.
