Wow im offline for a few hours & it goes mad in here ! hehehehehe !
Anyways i want to put something out there to some of you long term nappiy users as well as the newbies like me !
Im asked a couple of moderators so i wont get in trouble :shame: heheheh.
Ok here goes ! *deep breath *

Im looking at starting something i can do from home so i figured i can start small making my own nappy covers or boosters say & see how we go but for now i need some help advice etc etc !

What do you want in a nappy cover ?
Do you want something thats funky, cute, pretty, or just plain & simple ?
Do you want something that is made from wool, is a fleece fine or is there another fabric ?
Do you want something that grows with the child or are you happy buying various sizes ?
Would you prefer gender specific ?
What boosters do you like ?
Is there a certain style you like ?
What do you find works the best ?
What DONT you like ?

I could go on & on but i guess what i want is answers to questions like these but please give me any opinions to what else you would like or wouldnt want to see let loose i figured i might as well start with you guys ! :D
We are just looking at whether there is a market for it etc see whether it would be worthwhile or not so any help whatsoever would be great !

Thanks guys :smiliedance:

:smiliedance: You go girl!!! :yelclap:

OK I can't give you much feedback (yet) But I do know something that I don't like. I recently bought a pair of training pants for Vally, and because they didn't have plain pink I had to choose a different fabric. One of the possible choices was a print fabric with the words "I LOVE BOYZ" all over it :banghead: So I guess my point is, nothing skanky like that. :D

Oh and I'd also like to add, I think the ones that grow with the child would be fantastic (like I said, I haven't used cloths yet so I might be talking out my ar*e, there might be negatives about them that I haven't realised yet). I would pay a bit more for a nappy that will last from birth to toilet training.

What do you want in a nappy cover ?

I want a nappy cover that looks great, holds in wee and doesn't let explosive BF poos out. Also one that is easy and quick to do up.

Do you want something thats funky, cute, pretty, or just plain & simple ?

I like both funky, cute and plain. I like to have funky and cute ones that I can show off when I go out and plain ones that I can use when at home or for night time

Do you want something that is made from wool, is a fleece fine or is there another fabric ?

I like PUL and wool. I use PUL during the day and when traveling and wool at night.
Do you want something that grows with the child or are you happy buying various sizes ?

I would prefer having something that grows with my child so I don't have to keep buying more when he has a growth spurt.

Would you prefer gender specific ?

I tend to go for something that looks boyish rather than putting a frilly cover on my DS!!!!
What boosters do you like ?

I use mainly hemp boosters.
Is there a certain style you like ?

I'm starting to discover side snaps but have used front snaps and TT for ages so either or all doesn't worry me.

What do you find works the best ?

Do you mean in terms of covers? I find I like my PUL covers to go over his day nappies and use wool soakers (home knitted by me) at night. However, I am getting a custom made knitted soaker done which I am very excited about.
What DONT you like ?

I don't like covers that leak or leave red marks on DS legs. that's why I prefer covers that I can change the sizing to fit him and the nappy he's wearing.

Can I also say that you might want to check out NC and see what other WAHPs are making in terms of covers. You don't want to get into trouble with copyright and unethical behaviour.

I love velcro in my covers.

But, I don't like it where the velcro sits up the top of the cover so when the baby sits up her muffin top rubs on the velcro.

I love PUL, personally I wouldn't use anyother type of cover (except wool).

Think of more later.
